Pros
The team players have such a drive and passion for what they do. They take great pride in the work the deliver.
Cons
Often times the answer given is - "that is just how we do it". Too afraid of change and do whatever is takes to get something done, even if it means manual work and overtime pay.
Advice to Senior Management
Create a group that thinks about how PHH can drive change. Automate systems and stop independent spreadsheets for tracking and reporting.
Pros
Challenging work, great group of people and management has been flexible in meeting some of my health needs. There are perks, like the exercise rooms, on site cafeteria.
Cons
Long hours and stress in dealing with customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Overtime is great, but it may help to hire a few more people.
Pros
Business casual. Enough work to keep you busy. Other employees can be nice (but that's because they are dealing with the same problems)
Cons
Forced unpaid overtime. Paid for 37.5 (Not even 40) hours; expected to work 45+ hours. Too much work to handle and you get yelled at for not getting it done. When you make a mistake (and you will make a mistake due to the lack of training) you will get yelled at. If you stay late; they won't thank you, but rather get mad about something you did wrong.
Advice to Senior Management
Train your employees better. Hire more people. Don't force over time. Show some respect to employees.
Pros
I really enjoyed the team I was working with and they do treat contractors like regular employees.
Cons
Not much support once you start. VERY little training and some of the business oweners you work with don't play well with others.
Advice to Senior Management
If you insist on hiring contractors in your IT department you need to consider a training program to acclimate them to your systems.
Pros
Some of the reasons why I love working here are the friendly co-workers who go out of their way to help you. The company does offer access to a gym in each building. Also, there is a cafe in each building that is easy so you don't have to run out.
Cons
The new health insurance plane is horrible. They do not think of the employees when they were choosing this plan. Also, there used to be many incentives that were given to the employees. Over the years, this has all been stripped away. No longer are the days of summer trips and Christmas bonus gifts.
Pros
Good work enivorment, Each department has a vareity of teams, flexible work schedule, met some great people
Cons
As an intern, there were often times where I would sit at the desk and do nothing. I wish they provided me with more work
Advice to Senior Management
After talking with several of the AE's, the amount of time and effort it requires for a loan to be processed is to long, especially when they fail to met deadlines
Pros
Decent compensation, many good people, technology advanced
Cons
Very stressful corporate environment, always looking over your shoulder
Advice to Senior Management
more respect for the abilities of the employees
Pros
I worked for PHH for many years and held many different positions. The opportunity to make good money is incredible and advancement is everywhere you look but the opportunity to make life long friends and meet some of the greatest minds in the business is even better. My supervisor was always knowledgeable, helpful and fail (that is not to say all of them are). Flexibility for me to be a mom of school age kids was impeccable. Pay was ok...plenty of time off to spend with family and just for a mental health day with no questions asked.
Cons
Recently the benefit package changed and it is horrible! If you are one that is sick a lot I would suggest purchasing outside medical or dont get sick anymore!
