    Pros

PHH will hire anyone, so if you have no experience and looking to get into the industry.

    Cons

The company has no plan for the future and the outlook is bleak. The management runs the operations purely retroactively, so as an employee you are constantly trying to catch up to where the market is and once you reach it, the company's goals change again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people who not only have an understanding of the industry, but the expertise to guide its employees.

I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It was really easy to advance within the company. Within 11 months I was promoted from an analyst assisting financial advisors with the loan process for their clients to underwriting. They offer an extensive training program that makes you feel confidant when hitting the floor. Company is willing to take a chance on you and that means a lot when you are looking to build a career.

    Cons

The downside are that the constant changes are communicated company wide, but they are not followed by tenure employees. Benefits are terrible and poor communication between departments cause many issues for clients. The company also has yearly layoffs.

I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Let me think on that for a while, there were some friendly people.

    Cons

It seems as though there are no proper controls in place to monitor employees who do their jobs and those who don't. It is not a level playing field. People are disposable without thought at this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not promote people based on tenure, promote based on knowledge and ability to do the job. Too many 'supervisors' have not supervisory experience and are too social to care.

I have been working at PHH Mortgage full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good leadership and team work

    Cons

Unable to have a work life balance because a loan processor is just a number in the computer system. Not treated like an individual when it comes to taking on additional work load.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire more people

    Pros

Good salary and decent benefits for full-time employees ( not temps). Gym, post office, store, cafeteria on site. Most employees are friendly and professional.

    Cons

Large company that hires many temps. Temps are subject to reduced pay/hours/benefits/job security. Too much turnover based on market conditions. Company is so large that contacts are spread out. Human resources not easily accessible.

    Pros

    Time off due to tenure

    Cons

The systems are antiquated!! And they are constantly down & not functional. Internal departments do not work together. High stress & negative environment. Empty promises, constant changes in requirements, poor training, favoritism, no work life balance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is all about the numbers, could care less about you as a person. They have no clue how bad the systems are because they don't use them. The numbers and stats they hold you accountable to don't even make sense & are not even realistic. Constant changes the are very poorly communicated by management which cause many issues with clients.

    Pros

Training was better than at some other companies but could be better.

    Cons

Low paty for amount of work and management only cares about quantity instead of quality. Very quick to lay off when work slows down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out what employees are really [ulling their weight before you lay off the wrong people,

I have been working at PHH Mortgage full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The money was nice, getting a bonus monthly was awesome!!!! My supervisor was great, he made the extra effort to ensure I was successful and worked smarter not harder.

    Cons

layoffs based on favorites not work efforts. High stress environment. Some supervisors did little to help their employees succeed. Training did not adequately prepare you for the sink or swim environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop hiring and firing. Have a set of permanent employees ands when business needs justify, hire contract employees, this way the permanent employees aren't always scared of losing thier jobs.
