Pros – Interesting market, dedicated hardworking employees and managers, visionary founder, many loyal customers. Flexible hours and ability for some roles to work from home with management approval. Company invests in employee development and training and hosts fun events in and outside the office. Pay and benefits were good and there was a strong feeling of team spirit.
Cons – Recently the company has been losing market share to competitors due to obsolete products and lack of product quality. The Sales team is in a tough situation because customers are asking for new products and they are not available to sell. Senior management’s reaction to the current situation is not addressing the core issues and is negatively impacting employee morale. Key contributors have left or are looking to leave.
Advice to Senior Management – Strategic changes are needed to retain market leadership. Overhaul product development to improve quality and get new products to market more quickly. Don’t let too many more experienced employees leave or critical knowledge will be lost.

I have been working at PHT Corporation
Pros – Good market share in niche market. Erosion by competition has triggered mgmt to make poor, inexperienced decisions.
Cons – Aweful yet cocky senior management. Some strong middle managers have alot more experience and success, but are kept down. Irregular reviews. Highly political environment. Exec team hires friends and relatives.
Advice to Senior Management – Move aside and let middle managers speak. The Board should know better. Fuzzy finances.

I have been working at PHT Corporation full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – PHT is the market leader in a small but growing segment supporting clinical studies. The work done by the staff is designed to help pharmaceutical companies get their drugs tested and, if successful, approved. This is interesting and valuable work.
Cons – Regardless of the many hours and extended effort put in by the staff, upper management sees no value in their contributions. Already overloaded team members are given additional work and are then blamed by senior management when the can't keep up with their workload. For senior team members there are no opportunities for advancement and the only way to be promoted without changing departments is to get another job offer and then take advantage of the counter proposal offered by management to keep you from leaving.
Advice to Senior Management – This company does good work. Help the staff by truly improving process and forget about the band aids for a quick fix.
In addition to better leadership, PHT sorely needs a senior leader whose sole focus is operations. Having a COO or VP of Operations would allow that person to improve the infrastructure that touches so many other departments and impacts the company's ability to meet client deadlines and delight customers.

I have been working at PHT Corporation full-time
Pros – The middle managers struggle to help their workers
Cons – Clueless. No strategy. Changing priorites . They expect 60 hours yet executives work 10-5. Dumb.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop waiting fir this company to sell, and move on

I worked at PHT Corporation full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The product is great. Admittedly there are some short comings but all in all good product.
Cons – Very poor management with complete lack of accountability. The environment is plagued with cronyism. Culture of hiding the truth from the customer. With respect to adhere to company policy and guidelines they are weak; when an executive says "SOP's are for people who can't think for themselves..." then there is a big problem!
Advice to Senior Management – Stop the "good ol' boy" culture. Trust you middle managers and drive accountability.

I worked at PHT Corporation as an intern for less than a year
Pros – PHT Corporation offers flexible hours and there is always more work that can be done meaning overtime is available. For my internship, I felt the salary was competitive to internships at other locations. The company offers sufficient (paid) training for new employees in each department which lasted a week or so in my case. An added extra is the available discounts from Corporate Cafe (located on the ground floor of the building) as well as the employee discount for snacks/drinks in the break room. There is free parking and ample space for vehicles as well as MBTA accessibility.
Cons – There is some lack of understanding between departments in regards to project timelines. It seemed as if
some project managers had too much work on their hands because too much time was being taken to complete simple tasks which caused delayed release of projects to clients. Communication is key and you sometimes need to pressure other departments to focus on your project by consistent reminders of deadlines. A lot of the full-time staff will take vacations which cause other employees in their department to cover for their work and it is common for an overload of work to occur.
Advice to Senior Management – Take the time to understand what each department needs to get done to complete a project.

I worked at PHT Corporation full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great product one can get behind and sell. Developers at the firm are dedicated, talented and resourceful. Client engagement managers serve as strong representatives for clients and clients' needs.
Cons – Poor management. Ridiculous level of politics for such a small firm. Rampant favoritism based on non-work related factors, including personal relationships taking place outside the office environment.

I have been working at PHT Corporation full-time
Pros – really great team of people who do the work. very dedicated and hard working and mostly very smart. however, motivation is starting to wane as morale continues to take a dive. product is pretty good and getting better.
Cons – overworked with no understanding of how to prioritize or any hope of staffing appropirately as hiring has been frozen. underpaid with salaries frozen and no bonuses ever. there is no time to do our very reactive work and certainly no time to fix anything. 80 hours a week might be able to get it done...
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your people! they are smart and talented and know what goes on internally and externally. don't be so arrogant that you think you know everything. Respect your employees and use them for their experience and knowledge. Work SMARTER and more EFFICIENTLY!

I have been working at PHT Corporation
Pros – Great people in the company, good work-life balance.
Cons – Way behind in technology. Execs overstep their boundaries- they still run it like a small start-up.
Advice to Senior Management – Get a plan, stick to it. Stop jerking people around.
