I have been working at PIER 39 full-time for more than a year
Pros – - The staff is like a family
- You get to work on the waterfront
- You get to work at a place where guests are happy (tourists on vacation)
- There are PIER-wide discounts
- Free parking
- Provides great foundational skills and networking opportunities (if leveraged correctly)
Cons – - Salaries are ~20% below market
- Favoritism by executives
- Lacking of resources
- Interdepartmental conflicts
- The executives are perked/comped for everything, while employees salaries are far below market
- No opportunity for growth as the executive team is in for the long haul

I have been working at PIER 39 full-time
Pros – Views are great.
Many nice people working in the merchant shops.
Cons – Huge gap between the Executives, managers and people who actually do the work.
Bad communication level of managers.
No growth opportunity for the employees.
Favoritism, cronyism, nepatism are strong here.
Positive feedback is very rare.
Advice to Senior Management – Change your tactics for communication with employees.
Try a modern progressive approach. This isn't 1980
I was hopeful about the recent Employee Engagement Program but it doesn't look encouraging for future employees.

I have been working at PIER 39 full-time for less than a year
Pros – Beautiful views
Good restaurants and eateries
Friendly workers and management
Cons – Very high expectations in customer service
Gets extremely hectic at times with visitors and vehicle traffic out front
Pay is low in certain departments, lagging behind local industry
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what you started with employee engagement
This is a good place to work but starting salaries probably should be upped by $2/hr
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
