    Pros

If you have previous sales experience you may find success. Great environment.

    Cons

100 calls a day at times is in realistic. Turnover is 80%. Can get negative once in the sales process.

    Advice to Management

Need to promote the right people to management. Not the suck ups who didn't succeed as a sales person.

    Pros

Young and fun work environment but with that comes cliques and drama. You learn on your own to be independent professional and it demands you obtain a go getter attitude. Once the ball is rolling you leave work feeling accomplished. It's fun to watch your sales margin bar go up. I also liked the freedom to handle situations without having "to go to a manager". Definitely a self-driven job that can be a lot of fun.

    Cons

Strict, I mean STRICT, sales goals, leave you stressing over numbers when you are supposed to be a consultant for your customers needs. Conflicting motives. As I said in Pros, young co-workers leads to cliques and drama. If you get "IN" with the PLS "crew" you may be given special considerations/jobs (as in the company will make up positions for you) but only few get in. -You're nothing until you're something- at this company. Also, recently adding Saturday shifts made for some unhappy employees. LONG work hours. AND just because you work hard does not mean you get to keep you job...< Biggest Company Flaw. The job is based on LUCK! You gotta play to win.

    Advice to Management

Cherish your valuable employees. Separate Sales and Operations, as well as Sales and Management. Just because you can sell to customers does not mean you are fit for management here.

    Pros

This job is a resume builder at best. Intense sales experience and some insight into the logistics field. Except most companies don't really care about a job you only had for 6 months...

The work environment is a blast! VERY casual, young, a lot of freedom and goofing around. Everyone gets along and socializes outside of work and the office is in a great location in the heart of Midtown. I loved going to work at PLS because it didn't feel like work. **BUT** as cool as that sounds, a "fun" work environment doesn't pay the bills or advance your career...

    Cons

Turnover is absolutely ridiculous. If you aren't pacing to reach your RIGOROUS sales goals, you're fired. No questions asked. BYE! You'll be lucky if you make it longer than 6 months. This is due to a pitiful training program, total market saturation and almost ZERO support from management once you are in the sale process. Sink or swim.

The salary is pretty low. Not TERRIBLE but at $36,000, it's definitely on the low end of the spectrum especially for Houston and the high rent you'll pay to live in a desirable area of town. Plus, the benefits are pretty pathetic. Low coverage, HIGH deductible plans.

The job itself SUCKS. It takes a very special kind of person to cold call for 10 hours a day, getting hung up on, cursed at and rejected in the hopes that MAYBE one of the 100 calls you make each day (minimum requirement) will result in some business. That doesn't even include the time you are expected to put in outside of the already long work hours (7:45am -5:30pm M-F and some SATURDAYS!) for building a call list.

    Advice to Management

TRAINING!! Provide better training to your new hires and follow up with them once they are in the sales process instead of just throwing them on the phones and then not talking to them again until it's time to fire them in a couple of months.

    Pros

Great atmosphere and great people to work with. Laid back but expect hard work. There is opportunity here you just have to be wiling to put the work in.

    Cons

Lots of cold calling, rejection, and prospecting. Salary base pay with long hours after the expected work times.
