    Pros

Great work life balance, and flexible schedule. People are nice and friendly.

    Cons

There isn't any incentive to go the extra mile. Employees are promoted based on senority.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to raise expectations, standards and have clear communication with employees.

    Pros

    * People (the pee-ons) are generally nice * Decent benefits

    Cons

    * No innovation * Conservative * Lack of creativity * Workload is unmanageable due to lazy Directors that lacks leadership skills * Lack of autonomy and trust; management rather hear recommendations from expensive consultants/vendors than own employees * Field sales driven rather than customer driven * Internal conflicts between management

    Advice to Management

Instead of laying off people that actually do the work, maybe the execs ought to get rid of some of the lazy sr. management and directors. Board of Directors should be ashamed of themselves for driving the company to the ground.

  10. Helpful (1)

PMI is a great place to work - but it could be better

    Pros

Through a profit organization, PMI Group puts their employees first. This isn't to say people before revenue, necessarily, but the environment is such that everybody is made to feel just as important as anyone else.

    Cons

They can lean a bit too far on the conservative side. Granted, it's an insurance company - and "ready, aim, shoot" is better than "ready, shoot, aim" - but in some instances they need to find a better balance. I've seen to many projects in "ready, ready, aim, ready, reload ... "

    Advice to Management

Bring more entry-level people into brainstorming. Get the ideas from the people actually doing the work. In theory (and it should be in practice), they know more about what they do than anyone else, so it makes sense to find out what that work is.

  11. Loved my job more than life

    Pros

I loved this company and the job more than life itself. I am devastated that they downsized and eliminated my position and area. I had been meeting and exceeding my goals each month.

    Cons

They just had a lay off and an early retirement

    Advice to Management

Instead of having peoples jobs eliminated, comissions should have been eliminated until the company regained profitability . the base salary was good and the staff you had would have continued to grow the company.
