Pros
Good benefits
If you get a good manager then you can go somewhere but if your regional is not that great there is no way to get to the top
Cons
Pay is not great compared to other banks. Commission checks for bankers come a month and a half after qtr has ended which sucks.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay your workers more tellers and bankers do alot of thing and don't get what they should. If you catch a fraud check $25 for it but you saved the bank $3000 smh
Pros
Paid training, great benefits including tuition reimbursment, company match, employee banking and a pension plan. Opportunites to earn commission and suppliment your pay. Many PNC locations, so if you need to move there may be a chance that you can relocate and keep your job.
Cons
High turn over. Low pay compared to other area banks
Advice to Senior Management
Team building and company events are important for networking and strengthening PNC as a whole. We do not do this at the retail level. I could work at a branch for 10 yrs and not know anyone at the branch 5 minutes down the street. Networking with others in our territiry or region will help boost confidence, allow us to give a higher level of customer service and will help retain employees.
Pros
Strong brand, good products and services. Overall good benefits
Cons
Poor internal advancement. Need to leave to advance, or so it seems
Pros
Management open to change. Listens to employees. Really shows they care about their employees by providing a good environment. Strong career pathing, talent development.
Cons
Tough industry to be in but making the best of a bad economic environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep it up!!
Pros
Great benefits, excellent products and services, opportunities for advancement, good pay, very diverse culture, close no later than 7 PM.
Cons
The only con I've encountered is that PNC is not as wide spread in Maryland, where I live.
Advice to Senior Management
As PNC grows, maintain the culture, the focus on customer service, and the drive to acheive excellence.
Pros
Some very good people working here, however they are not in management.
Cons
Very poor communication from top down, seems like things change overnight.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to listen to your employees and take their feedback seriously. The Gallup surveys that you guys love so much is nothing more than fluff if management does not take them seriously. What's more it's a waste of time for employees who feel even more frustrated when they express their visions and management then turns around and slaps them down for voicing their opinions.
Pros
The dignity of working at a bank.
Useful training.
Safe working environment.
Decent wages.
Decent benefits.
Cons
Low career mobility.
Frequent infighting.
Treachery.
They use part-time workers like pawns.
Advice to Senior Management
Employees are people, not abstractions. Knowing that will serve you well. It doesn't help to make your employees feel like pariahs when they have colds, especially when they grind their fingers to the bone for you every other day of the year.
Pros
Good start for someone in school
Cons
Management at the branch level was essentially run by incompetent adults or illogical college students.
Advice to Senior Management
Emphasis on training branch level management. The tellers are the key not the supervisors!
Pros
Good pay and good atmosphere
Cons
Some retail branches should be updated
Pros
It seems like a good company that is generally concerned for its employees. Depending on your managers and coworkers it can be either a great place to work or not.
Cons
Going to HR with issues will get you nowhere. Which branch you work at has everything to do with how happy you will be. My Supervisor & Manager make me ashamed to call them my superior, America's public school system has sorely failed them.
Advice to Senior Management
Jim Rohr. At times I've been so upset about my job that I've wanted to write you a letter. On your EIQ survey you ask us many questions I can't give 5's to. Your company is not a leader in technology, my computer takes more than 5 minutes to reboot. My manager refuses to buy us PNC polos but he got a new desk. I've heard that all the managers hired from PNC are good, but all the ones left over from bank conversions are still stuck in their ways and this is true. Open your eyes, clean house and get rid of the terrible managers who aren't truly PNC employees.
