Pros
Great office atmosphere, fun people
Cons
The pay is low, but it is Pittsburgh
Advice to Senior Management
Give larger raises
Pros
I began as a teller and it was an enjoyable experience as I got a promotion and moved to a customer service representative.
Cons
Unfortunetely my position was eliminated after one year working there. I was considered a summer teller and I could have moved to a full time teller but I was still in school.
Advice to Senior Management
I would say there needs to be a clearer communication policy in place at PNC Bank. It was hard to know where I would be at the next day or even the next week.
Pros
Innovative company with very high integrity. . Cares about employees. Poised to win with great products and great customer service in the branches.
Cons
Not many. Top notch company. You have to put your hours in for sure. Getting big and has to be careful to keep that small bank feel.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to listen to both employees and customers when deciding on new products or changes to existing products or services
Pros
working there is like working with a family and i could not be happier with my time there at pnc bank
Cons
the pay is not the best so basically you need to love what you do and be comfortable enough to survive in this inflated world.
Advice to Senior Management
i have one of the best managers i have ever met she is the most thoughttful person in the world and she makes working a pleasure
Pros
the benefit package,. especially the ability to take a loan against your 401k
Cons
the managers aree uneducated and spiteful. very biased regarding opportunities
Pros
Good pay and benefits for a job that does not require a college degree.
Great company in the banking industry, so good brand recognition
Cons
Work Saturdays
Reports and paperwork required for every aspect of the job
CIQ scores- these are ratings that customers give you and are measured and constantly scrutinized on a day to day basis.
Required use of "PNC" language"- have to use their vocabulary and makes you feel like a robot when interacting with the customers
Advice to Senior Management
Offer more freedom to interact with customers on their own.
More performance based rewards
Offer more options for career advancement.
Pros
They will give anyone with the proper characteristics a chance to learn the business. It is a good place to learn.
Cons
There is a lack of communication. I'm not sure that PNC Investments knows what direction they want to move in. They could use some improvement in the training of their Financial Advisors.
Pros
- Talented and knowledgable colleagues
- Great team work in certain areas
Cons
- Work life balance is extrememly poor in some departments.
Pros
Good efforts on modernizing the banking experience, but local management never seemed to engage with it. Need this to work extra hard to overcome "big bank" reputation in eyes of customer.
Cons
Very large organization, touch to communicate issues up the chain and know that they will be heard by decision makers
Advice to Senior Management
Better and more efficient channels of communication ,between customers/customer facing personnel and decision makers at headquarters. Keep up technology investments.
Pros
Colleagues at PNC are understanding and create a comfortable environment for you to work in and you they are also flexible with the time scheduling.
Cons
You may not readily get the position you want or the hours you want to work, the location or the days.
Advice to Senior Management
Management works with all their employees and are always helping their employees move forward within the company to positions that are suited for them.
