PNC offers excellent life balance, but limited career advancement opportunities.

    Branch Manager (Former Employee)
    Indianapolis, IN

ProsPNC is good at keeping salaried employees to a reasonable work week. The benefit packages are top of the line. Feel safe that you'll be kept around as a poor performer (but not poor ethics).

ConsThe advancement opportunities (particularly in a non-critical market are minimal or obsolete). Very little room for originality at PNC - operations, behaviors, and language are all very scripted. Beware of the ethics police - witch hunts frequently entrap innocent people.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind ways to recognize, incentivize, and promote your good people. Good performers frequently flee to competitors for these things.

All about the customers-not the employees

    Branch Manager (Former Employee)
    Lansing, MI

ProsPNC is well-known nationally and provides good experience to take to another employer.

ConsLow pay-long hours-many times the customer isn't right, but neither is the employee and it is a viscious cycle.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdministering mid-year reviews and rolling corrective action into that same event is shameful. A review is just that-and a performance plan is a totally different discussion.

PNC is a great and growing company

    Customer Service Associate (Current Employee)
    Columbus, OH

ProsInstead of pushing products to customer they want you to build a relationship with them and figure out there needs/wants.

ConsThe balance of work life and home life is hard to do.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe careful what you pray for.

    PNC Senior Processing Specialist

    Senior Operations Specialist (Former Employee)
    Moorestown, NJ

ProsSteady work, willing to teach all factors of lockbox procedures. Flexible schedules when needed. Supervisors work with staff , when necessary to meet deadlines. Supervisors show workers they are appreciated.

ConsLow raises, scheduling problems concerning vacations.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt would be great if upper management would reevaluate the pay scale they are using and upgrade the salaries to a higher scale. The percentage rate of raises comes no where near the cost of living rate.

Great Place if you go with the flow

    Financial Sales Consultant (Current Employee)
    Detroit, MI

Prostuition reimbursment, benefits, employee recognition, advanced technology, realistic goals, training, expense reimbursment, employee banking perks, great FMLA program

Conslazy managment, office culture between old staff and new staff, rude branch support team members, confusing polcy and procedures, always changing sales products,

Advice to Senior Managementpay branch managers less and pay branch staff more. the staff is the backbone to the company and most branch managers are never in branch and dont know how to do half of the things neccesary to servicing accounts. they constantly rub it in their staffs face how much they make then turn around and ask someone for help with something they should be well versed in doing.

    Good Pay, Simplified processes

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsMon-Fri schedule with very few Saturdays. Bonuses are good. Pay is good but not great. Good training. GREAT products

ConsSome Saturdays required. Waiving more than one fee for a client is an act of congress and involves upper management leaving your hands tied when a customer may need help the most. Raises are not generous (mere cents) so be sure you ask for exactly what you want when you are first hired.

    Excellent company to work for

    Bank Teller (Current Employee)
    Philadelphia, PA

ProsGood benefits, discount programs, great coworkers

ConsCustomers service surveys put a lot of pressure on employees, and they aren't always a fair assesment of the employee.
