I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group

    Pros

The training and support at all levels is absolutely top notch. PNC also does a great job keeping up with technology.

    Cons

Pay is not always competitive as compared to the competition. Opportunity for advancement without moderate travel is not common.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is less expensive to raise rates to retain quality employee than to continually hire and train low wage replacements.

    Pros

    Work/life balance
    Development and growth opportunities
    Long term employer

    Cons

There is no Unity within the bank, some departments don't work well with other departments. Hard to get information from some areas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote Unity or "oneness" throughout the bank. We are all working for the same goal.. we are PNC, we are "1 PNC" not different companies

I worked at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful reputation, strong market share, tools and resources available to be successful.

    Cons

Restrictions on pay increases between pay grades limit the benefits of moving up. Difficult to change paths once you settle into a role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more creative in developing your better talent, and don't be afraid to pay them accordingly. Someone else will.

I worked at PNC Financial Services Group part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They offer full-time benefits, health insurance and retirement benefits for part-time employees even those only working 20 hours per week. They talk a lot about work/life balance but not sure they really believe it.

    Cons

There is a high standard to perform, continual addition of responsibilities, with an ever increasing bar of for what is acceptable performance with extremely low pay. The level of excellence and performance expected does not meet the pay they are offering. There is a reason why they always have so many positions open...and it is not because they are always promoting like they say.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before you try to add one more responsibility to the lower level employees try to do their job for a month.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Training, career development, and very flexible work life balance. Worked for numerous companies in the past and none we as good as PNC. PNC is changing and for the better. PNC is one of the best Main Street Banks hands down with great people in all levels. I am proud to work at PNC.

    Cons

Duplication of work, bad communication all over, not a technology leader, overstaffed in many areas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good luck on turning the Titanic on a dime.

    Pros

Managers care about career progression/growth of employees.

    Cons

Weaker compensation justified by cost of living in PA and work/life balance (which is sometimes non existent).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gone are the days of employees staying at one company for 30 years. If you want talent to stay, compensation and approach will have to change to keep up with the times.
