    Pros

Good starting position, gives basic knowledge about banking, customer service.

    Cons

Low pay. Not so much place to grow, at least in the branch I worked at.

    Pros

PNC cares about the development of their employees. The employees' feedback is valuable to senior management.

    Cons

Pay not be as high as compared to other larger national banks, but still a decent comprehensive package.

    Advice to Management

Continue to value employees and promote development. A low employee turnover ratio will do measures for a growing company.

    Pros

Seems to really care about employees. Good benefits. My guess is that corporate level is good, but the Retail banking part of PNC is not all that wonderful.

    Cons

Was promoted internally after 1.5 years, found out an external hire made $15K more with no banking experience. Compared to other banks around, pay is very low.

    Advice to Management

When you have good people internally, pay them. They will leave when they find out you do not value them anymore. Bye, PNC.

    Pros

It was better before they bought National City.

    Cons

Upper management only really cared about themselves. They would pretend that they cared but in reality, you're just a body that can be replaced.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They're the ones on the front lines, and they know what's going on every day and what the customers want. Stop taking away responsibilities and independent thought away.

    Pros

I enjoy the culture of the Branch I am located in. It is a true team environment and everyone tries to help each other maximize their incentive.

    Cons

Base salary is low compared to other Private Client programs, heavily relied upon for investment revenue but not compensated for it.

    Pros

There is a culture that may seem better than competitor banks. The sales goals are increasing, but are not unbearable as it sounds like they might be at other banks.

    Cons

Low pay, which results in high turnover rate. Employees are consistently making lateral moves to other companies for considerably higher pay which results in a constant state of flux and transition.

    Advice to Management

Invest a little bit more in your employees to eliminate constant turnover.

  11. Conservative company with volatile work balance and obvious new to market challenges

I worked at PNC Financial Services Group

    Pros

Company profile strong and general public perception extremely positive. Keeping relationship banking alive while introducing technology features of today's industry

    Cons

Inconsistent employee competency and overwhelming number of new managers who aren't familiar with PNC culture. Lack of communication/conversation between managers above branch level and front line employees.

    Advice to Management

Regional managers, open lines of communication with front line employees to discuss branches' unique client and staff challenges
