I have learned more about businesses and IT working here for 1 year than I did in all of my college career.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThere is an abundance of knowledge in ISD and it's really easy to expand your knowledge base as well as move around in the company.

ConsManagement seems to be too focused on metrics as opposed to the actual work that employees are performing.

Advice to Senior ManagementBecome more engaged in the actual work performed by employees.

    Boring

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSalary and benefits are great. Not worth putting up with the lazy passive agressive workforce.

ConsStrange passive aggressive culture. Entitlement attitude.

Advice to Senior ManagementThin out the dead weight.

    Great Internship

Business Analyst (Former Employee) Allentown, PA

    ProsVery cohesive atmosphere
They set you up in apartments with all the other interns which created a really fun community
    The commute was very short
Most of the staff is retiring soon so there are great opportunities for advancement

ConsAllentown wasn't the greatest place to be
It did not have a lot of young people around

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you set up something that interns would work together with some of their peers, I think that would increase retention

    Good income

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe beat part of working for PPL Electric utilities is the pay scale and the people who work there are great. Always there to help you.

ConsIt's hard to move up. Even if you have all credentials for the job you are over looked because they know who they want to hire.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a lot of great talent located all over the company. You really need to look at the talent within the company and give someone a chance that may not have all the skills.

This is a company that is lost with no direction.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Allentown, PA

ProsThe workers are the best. They care and know the business. That is about all the company has going for it.

ConsThere are a lot of favorites that are played. Each group that come seems to not have a clue. This is a company that should focus more on safety not politics!

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn what your organization does in a day!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Out with the old

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat benefits. Vacation policy based on age, not years of service.

ConsDoes not value experience of long term employees. Upper management brings in new managers who worked with them at their former companies.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
