    Pros

    Good benefits and free soda

    Cons

To begin, you will receive little to no training and very little help because the other employees are so busy with their own work. You will be reprimanded and ridiculed in front of others at the weekly meeting. In addition, leadership will talk badly about employees in front of the office staff. This poor leadership has resulted in an overall organizational climate of mistrust and an "every man for himself" attitude. Lots of finger-pointing Unfortunately, the employees are under constant stress wondering if they will be the next target.

The company operates lean so you are expected to produce reports and conduct business using equipment that is outdated and in a state of disrepair.

No matter how busy you are, you will also be required to produce a list of all of the tasks that you have completed each day and forward it daily to the Vice President so she will know exactly what you're doing each day.

Turnover is high and I have seen more than 1 employee in tears. More than a few have indicated that if something better came along, they'd be gone.

    Advice to Management

With the high turnover rate, there is obviously a problem. Understand that negative leadership behavior results in a significant negative impact to the organization's bottom line. It's pretty obvious where the problem lies.

    Pros

Enjoy working with so many knowledgeable people.

    Cons

It's a shame to see how much the company has changed in the last few years, not for the better. People are back to doing their own thing after the company worked so hard to establish procedures and create strong training. Few long timers left with 2 VPs leaving last 12 months and two people over 15 years each leaving in last 12 months. Sad to have the company encouraging people to write positive reviews to offset the honest less positive reviews.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your long term employees and don't take people for granted.

    Pros

People are friendly but too busy to help you learn. Some benefits are comparable to other companies and others are not as good such as the amount the employee pays for insurance.

    Cons

Recently started and was just thrown into position. I expected at least some training. The expectation to figure things out and do your job without being provided the tools to learn is disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Have a training program and resources for help. People in office are too busy or don't have the knowledge for your position.

    Pros

This is a company that runs very lean. They pride themselves on it. As a result this creates several learning opportunities

    Cons

Running as lean as they do there is NEVER any time to breath. The high turnover results in many people doing the jobs of several - unfortunately there is not additional pay or recognition. They do not give COLA increases. The bonus plan is ambiguous and unattainable.

    Advice to Management

Encourage and promote work life balance. Canvas your peers to ensure there are realistic salaries paid.

    Pros

They only positive thing for the employees that they would occasionally spend the tenant's money on buying lunches for their employees.

    Cons

Very stressful place to work. They are a public company, but won't even hire receptionists for their offices. They run VERY lean and pile way too much work on all of their employees without any regard for their wellbeing. Plus, they don't really care for their tenants, except the larger ones that would make them look bad if they defaulted and had a bunch of empty space. My advice.....don't take a job here.

    Pros

Simple, profitable business model. Industry leader. Employees with longevity at PS Business Parks are considered marketable in other settings and within industry because of the high demands put on their positions and the experience they receive.

    Cons

Company operates extremely lean and with unfair expectations for team. Management is not responsive to internal issues. Poor communication from top down. Poor leadership.

    Pros

    Based on Corporate Office.
Benefits, okay pay, name is resume builder, learn to operate under high stress and high demand.

    Cons

A lot of overtime, employees are under appreciated and required to meet unfair demands, upper management does not know or care how goals are met (as long as they are), minimal diversity (again corporate office), no training, horrible time management. One VP lacks professionalism in all levels.
If you are considering working here, understand that when they say they operate lean, they mean it. Work/Life balance is horrible. Does not offer any cross training, or job development. If you have other job offers, take them. Or, work here and burn out (or get fed up), like many have before.

    Advice to Management

Increase work/life balance for ALL employees. Don't operate lean just to make a buck, as you've noticed by your low ratings, former employees see you as a terrible former employer.

    Pros

Lots of vacation and sick time compared to other companies, decent benefits package, good learning opportunities in certain departments, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, executives are very personable too, casual Fridays

    Cons

Certain departments in home office have lots of restrictions on vacation time. It is a very stressful place to work due to the fact that they operate very lean and co-workers are usually too busy to help. Long hours including weekends does not provide for good work/life balance. There is high turnover and pay is mediocre at best.

    Advice to Management

Encourage more work/life balance, particularly during quarter end, by hiring more staff. Please also provide realistic salaries to employees who are normally given extra work that is outside of their normal scope.

    Pros

If you stick around for 5 years or so then you can join the club of employees who don't get much time and take home a pay check

    Cons

Little pay, long hours, no opportunity to grow, worst benefit package ever.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to have a anonymous hotline to report other employees for unethical conduct.

    Pros

Great people, sick pay accrued at approx. 3 hours per pay period, 2 weeks accrued vacation after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years of employment

    Cons

Very low pay scale. Substantial cost-saving accomplishments that are initiated by support staff (admin assistants/maintenance techs) are never mentioned or rewarded. Annual holiday schedule doesn't commence until Memorial Day (holiday schedule - 7 legal holidays + 3 floating). Without a 4 year "degree", can't ever aspire to be anything but an administrative assistant or maintenance engineer, regardless of length or "degree" of experience. Case in point, a current long-time employee has both Property and Leasing management experience but will never be promoted to either management position due to the lack of that 4 year "degree". Another current employee has the most engineering experience of anyone working at PS but can expect to go no further than current position of Maintenance Tech.
