Listen to your nurses. You provide benefits for office personnel, why not field nurses? Double standard much?

I have been working at PSA Healthcare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The training is good and the staff work hard to place nurses in the right job if they can. They will work with you and there is no pressure normally to take any work.

    Cons

They advertise benefits but do not reveal any details until you point-blank ask or find out upon being hired in the packet you are given. Turns out you have to work full-time to receive tuition reimbursement, which is why I joined them. They do not have full-time work depending on where you live so the benefits do not apply. After 20 hours you may apply for their 401K . They offer .33 cents on the dollar up to 6%.

    Advice to Management

Nurses should have a name tag with the company logo that they can wear to their assignments.

    Pros

Educational oppourtunities. Salary is not bad.

    Cons

Aurora office staff9 human resources and staff even after bad reviews elsewhere remain very unfriendly and unreasonable!

    Advice to Management

Please turn over some the office staff who actually can be very mean to your field staff. Inparticular one of your lifetime staffers in this office. She builds little bullying groups and has poor judgement as to what it requires to be a nurse and direct care provider. can not send my friends to this company.

    Pros

For pediatric homecare agencies, probably has the best resources and most consistent management. Attracts the highest number of BSNs, at least in the Seattle area. Paid training. Company invests in equipment and training for RNs. Company works to increase use of technology (computer charting etc.) which is more progressive than other area agencies. I really enjoy working per diem.

    Cons

Pay is low compared to other homecare agencies (but again, paid training WITH PSA!), therefore high turnover of RNs who want higher-paying jobs. Little to no opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

More competitive pay is needed to retain quality RNs who are interested in homecare. There have been some improvements (higher differentials etc) but general salary increase would be attractive.

    Pros

Job is Flexible, pay is decent, families are somewhat nice, Pay is every week, they pay for inconvenience and sometimes for your gas if the patient is far from you

    Cons

The people who schedules the appointments are unorganized. They literally harass you to send in an availability sheet but then calls you every week asking if you are available at a certain time as of the availability sheet is non existent. They switch your patients around a lot so you never get to get that companionship you want. If you orient for a orient that patient becomes yours so that means that if you were oriented with John Doe in April and only worked with him once 6 months ago one day they can call you and expect you to work for him. Sometimes a patients family may end up not having anyone to work for them while you are home workless. I haven't had a schedule for almost 3 weeks until I finally decided to look for another job. They give patients that live so far from you, I've met employees who worked near where i was living and lived by where I was working which meant that we should have had switched patients for our own convenience.

    Advice to Management

Shut down and restart again you guys really are the worst even the parents are complaining and threatening to leave.
