    Pros

    They are extremely supportive when it comes to providing continuous training for their managers either in - person or via the company intranet - if you have the drive for self-education, you have all of the knowledge you need at your disposal. The team atmosphere is wonderful and I feel very supported in my desire to continue to grow with the company. The benefits and HR team are great! Reimbursements too!

    Pros

    Since merger dust settled things have been great. Glad to see training classes being offered and being taken seriously when we have suggestions or issues. No bs. Managers and techs are about getting the job done and don't tolerate high school gossip (in most locations) They're honest even when you don't want to hear it but at least you know where you stand unlike some bosses out there.

    Cons

    Sometimes feels to big but management try's to keep everyone connected. Pay could be better

    Glad we are getting more opportunities to work at other hotels. Try to let everyone know about available shifts in a better way.

    Pros

    Support from the executive level managers has been fantastic. Benefits and culture have been great for me, but it definitely depends on what region of the country you are in.

    Cons

    Even for salaried management, the required hours can be a roller coaster. Do your research regarding the size of the time at the hotel and what talents and skills are on-site.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    For properties located outside of large city markets, more work needs to be done to circle the wagons and make those staff members feel like a part of the larger picture.

    As a Director we are trusted with the day tot day operation of our location. Upper management always has an ear for what is needed by us in the trenches.

    Pros

    This company has taken great care of me ever since I was a part time employee. The people I work for and with are all excellent.

    Cons

    Occasionally we have had a bad employee slip through the cracks. Usually that person is hired on by a friend, but eventually they find their way to the door.

    Free food in the hotel cafeteria.
    You learn something new all the time.
    Great employees. The hire the best.

    Cons

    If your part-time you wont get priority with hours. But that depends on your director.

    Pros

    Although during any merger (PSAV and Swank) there are going to be hiccups, there is a real feeling that most people at PSAV really care about how this turns out. and how it turns out is PSAV is a dominant force in the event production world. there are so many different paths to take within the same company. Very cool stuff going on with technology here.

    Cons

    its taken longer than expected for some of the systems to merge which has caused some confusion for most of the Swank employees (sales programs, payroll cycles, P&L's).

    continue to communicate the positives and don't forget to mention some of the issues and how the company is handling them. people want to know these are being addressed.

    Pros

    Fun business. Great teammates, something new everyday, strong leaders. Feel,supported most of the time. Have seen fair and good opportunities for us while cleaning out of dead wait over the last few years

    Cons

    Seasonal. Long hours, then very slow. Takes a while to get new equipment. Working in hotels,can be stressful when hotel staff doesn't know,what the are doing.

    After merger have had some great things happen(bigger team, new ideas) but also taking too long sometimes (new titles)
