I worked at PSAV full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of location and support in the region.

    Cons

You are a number and nothing more. Employees are treated as less than human. Gross negligence is often overlooked because it's easier to turn a blind eye than to correct the problems or fire people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation was half what it is in any other sector doing the same work. Benefits should never dwindle, but increase over time. If you can't give a decent raise (5% at least), then consider free parking or other perks.

I have been working at PSAV full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Multiple locations easy to transfer to other states/countries, lots of mobility within the company.

    Cons

People that have been with the company for a long time but not showing improvement or drive don't get fired or moved bringing moral down at some location. Being in the events industry your work/home life suffers. Hours are long and inconsistent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage your over achievers and find the people that are hurting your moral and address the issue. If someone hasn't been promoted since they started find the problem and fix it.

I have been working at PSAV full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Overall the company is not horrible as a whole. From my viewpoint, we seem to hire a good amount of entry level techs so the opportunity is there. Also, The career path is pretty cut and clear and the training (Depending on your property) is not uncommon.

    Cons

Everyone is an entry level tech and the techs that have spent some time in the company all complain about wanting to quit. The hours are just insane, being 100+ in the busier properties and -80 in the less busy. rarely will you just make 80 a week as a regular tech. Finally, not a complete con, but if your a floor tech with high work ethic, expect to be worked, not promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote employees for their successes. Just because one employee spends more time around you, try to look at other aspects of the team and the teammates who also play a major role in making it happen.

I have been working at PSAV part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Wage is ok. Got to eat for free at the hotel. Got to sit around a lot and do a whole lot of nothing

    Cons

Applied for a full time position but ended up in part time. Haven't been to work in almost 5 months. Went to look online and they were hiring 3 more audio video techs for some reason I don't know why I get notified asking when I can work and never get put on the schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have never been trained just get called in to babysit equipment. Heard there is room for advancement in the company, and applied for a higher up position and never heard anything back. Probably going to quit soon but haven't gotten around to doing that. I just keep telling them I can't work. Seems easier that way.
