    Pros

Great people to work with, if you are new to AV or perhaps just have limited knowledge you can learn a lot by actually using the equipment in practical applications.

    Cons

Sometimes the schedule can be all over the place and if it's a slow time of the year you can be without work.

    Advice to Management

Allow more training sessions and classes become more frequent. techs always want to learn as much as possible

    Pros

I believe that PSAV was the best company that I ever worked for because of the people and my managers. Leadership allowed me to think for myself and develop my own process to succeed. I miss my customers and co-workers very much and stay in touch with them now that I've moved to a larger company.

    Cons

I understand that the roles in the field are very demanding, but don't shy away from calling your manager or human resources - they are there to be a resource for you! They would be happy to help!

    Advice to Management

Take the time to train your staff. Even if it's busy season, it will pay off for you in the short and long term.

    Pros

    Can't think of any Pros.

    Cons

If you're looking for a place with good work/life balance, PSAV is not it. After PE change, management does not encourage employee growth. Most pre-PE employees have sense of entitlement and completely disregard their own responsibilities, trying to push them on others. Newer employees are taken for granted and get burned out quickly.

    Pros

Local crews are decent hard working folks (mostly youngsters) trying to do professional corporate events.

    Cons

Corporate Office in Schaumburg is totally CLUELESS. They're drinking corporate Kool Aid and they're roll playing their positions. They create their own little corporate world with their "intranet" and act like the world revolves around them. They have ZERO knowledge of what a professional presentation is.

    Advice to Management

Weed out the corporate "title whores" and put in people who know what it takes to build a staff and put on a pro quality event

    Pros

If you want money then this is the place to be from January to May. After that they no longer need your help in the summer and then it is normal hours around September.

    Cons

This company lacks so many things. It is the biggest AV company in the world as far as supplying hotels however there is no substance or infrastructure for this company. Each director you work with does things completely different. It is all about who you know to be honest. The company is too cheap to pay employees once summer starts and you will be out of a job for months. Also, there is not much training involved here. Directors and other workers don't want to teach you anything because they feel you will learn the trade and start taking hours and business away from them. For a big company like this you would think it would be more structured as opposed to unorganized being the norm.

    Advice to Management

Management is different from hotel-to-hotel. This is why this company lacks consistency. SOP is just something they have just to say they have it. No one follows the rules unless something goes wrong then they judge based off of SOP. The pecking order goes as follows You>Director>HR>Hotel staff. In other words if the hotel your working at doesn't like you , they will have you booted immediately.
