I worked at PSAV full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I had a lot of flexibility with my supervisor. He made working there convenient and efficient. Projects can easily become fun and creative allowing the sales manager to be unique in what is proposed to the client.

    Cons

Working with different managers who are too tight or have the wrong vision can easily make this an undesirable job. Workload is not evenly distributed throughout the year however it is not necessarily a con/ There is a clear busy and slow season so keep this in mind when calculating your commission checks!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have confidence in your team. No complaints really. A lot of positive changes have been made compared to my first and last year.

I have been working at PSAV full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay check cashes. On job training is ok. Lunch included when working at a hotel. Pay for half of transportation costs if you are a manager.

    Cons

Poor director management. Poor quality production. Too expensive for clients. Pays techs and managers too little. Directors are manipulative to get good numbers and bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review the culture of fear sowed at the local level. PSAV is not a happy place to work. Worse 3 years of my career

    Pros

Increasing training support, plenty of opportunities open for mobility

    Cons

separation between on-site operations versus c-level execs, lots of red tape to break through the ceiling

I have been working at PSAV full-time

    Pros

Sometimes the work is easy and rewarding.

    Cons

Somedays you work up to 17 hours without additional pay if you are on slalary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer to pay fair/competitive wages upfront. To gain or maintain talent in this industry it is very important that you treat them great with sincere perks. PSAV offers a point system for a job well done vs. a bonus. I'd rather have cash handed to me.

I worked at PSAV full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

As the largest audio visual company in the hospitality industry they have many locations and offer work locations around the globe.

    Cons

Expect to be underpaid and overworked. Many locations are served by poor middle managers who only care about numbers and nothing about people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act like you believe what you say, that your employees are the reason for your success.

I have been working at PSAV full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

This company has taken great care of me ever since I was a part time employee. The people I work for and with are all excellent.

    Cons

Occasionally we have had a bad employee slip through the cracks. Usually that person is hired on by a friend, but eventually they find their way to the door.

I have been working at PSAV full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Company keeps growing and there are a lot of opportunities to move up but you have to be willing to relocate a lot. In a year I went for tech to director but they will make you work for it and you will be working 60 plus hours at a starting managers location. If you are a team player it will go a long way for you

    Cons

Pay always seems a little under what it should be. It is also very hit or miss for good team leaders from region to region. Health care coverage is not that good that is the biggest kick on top of the salary issues.

I have been working at PSAV as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Between jobs if I get a call it could be a good option for a little extra money.
    Descent equipment to work with.
You can apply for other positions with the company.
You can negotiate your hourly per project.
Fair treatment for women working in this field.
They do have training classes should you need it.

    Cons

    No benefits as a part-time.
Last minute calls to which I cannot always work.
Hourly pay is okay however, when I freelance with other companies I negotiate a time and half compensation when I work over 10 hours in one day. I worked one project with PSAV for 30 hours straight and received nothing additional! Not even a couple of hours to sleep in the hotel we were working at. I felt this was taking serious advantage of part-timers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to work more with PSAV but I also work as a freelancer and tend to get booked in advance. I had hoped I would be able to pursue a career with PSAV but find that more times than not when I am called it is so very last minute (ie: can you work tomorrow) that I am already in the middle of a project. I would love some advance notice of projects.
