I have been working at PSCH full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Constantly looking in house before hiring outside people. Also, most management are hands on. Starting salary is ok, compared to similar companies.

    Cons

As with any company in this field, most problems come from the staff, and not the individuals themselves. Upper management dictates and usually never around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop giving orders, and come see what the frontline workers actually deal with. A degree won't teach that.

    Pros

    Cons

Pay isnt great for workload. Company very top heavy, travel to training and headquaters are challenging if you use public transportation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great experience and everyone is equally trained no matter what position. Great way for personal growth within the field due to experience with the population. Not long of a wait to transfer departments and promotions.

    Cons

Sometimes short staffed and lack of communication between management.

    Pros

I love to work with people, and help people learn. The company is a good company that provides training to get you ready to take care and help assist mentally challenged individuals in their residence. At the end of the day you leave your job with a feeling of fulfillment.

    Cons

The travel to the out of the way training site was a bit much. After the first couple of days you get use to the long confusing out of the way travel to training. I appreciated the pay increase after the first 30 days of work. It made me feel appreciated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not much to say here, I really enjoyed my employment at the company.

    I worked at PSCH full-time

    Pros

Flexable schedule, continuing education opportunities provided

    Cons

Terrible benefits, no raises in four years, no bonus

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about the people that work for your organization. Be loyal and you will receive loyalty in return. Get all sides of an incident before suspending good hardworking people soely on circumstantial evidence. The individuals that reside with your organization should be your top priority and what is in their best interest. Do not cut corners and considering the all mighty dollar first.

    I worked at PSCH full-time

    Pros

The support staff is great and works hard to provide services in an ever changing environment. With little to no clear guidance/support from management.

    Cons

The Managers, Directors, VP...et al need shoe horns to get through the door. They need to address employee's concerns with out fear of retaliation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to put your self in your staff's seat for just one day and see if what you are asking is feasible. Stop the stroll through the facility in a blatant attempt to appear as if you care. Try to learn your the staff members names and use them and how about a hello? The only time they know you is when they need something!

    Pros

Very pleasant, meet many nice people and my boss was really great, very professional.

    Cons

The organization had budget cuts (no fundings) to cover my position as well as others and I was laid off after 4 months of service.
