Current Employee – been working at PSE&G
Pros – Good benefits and the engineering team does a good job to keep abreast with industry standards, some of the employees are very helpful
Cons – No proper management, micro managing, sharing information is poor with subordinates, superiority complex, certain members are disrespectful and condescending and stooping
Advice to Senior Management – The higher level management needs to know how the new employees are being treated by their managers, there needs to be a formal training of the company practices which is missing.

Current Employee – been working at PSE&G
Pros – As an entry level engineer, your supervisor does not push you so hard and that is why you learn in a long period of time.
Cons – As an entry level position, you need to learn really fast, that is why it is not a good place to work as a beginner
Advice to Senior Management – They need to take their entry level staff more seriously and try to teach them as much as they can

Former Employee – worked at PSE&G
Pros – Pay is good after 20 years, friendships made are lasting
Cons – Utilities have unions, which manipulate and lie to management and hold them hostage. Unions are useless, management has no backbone. It makes for a less than comfortable environment.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop taking so much crap from the unions and stop telling management to crack down and when they do, the managers are to blame. Figure out which side of your mouth you're speaking from. And if the direct managers have no way of controlling the union employees, why are they held responsible? If that's the mentality, then Izzo should go, no????

Former Employee – worked at PSE&G
Pros – Growth within the company on, or after 2012 should be quite good.
The company diversification has helped keep the bottom line for stockholders a reasonable choice
Cons – Pension plan and health benefits are not what they were prior to 1999.
Bonuses are linked to goals that individuals rarely have any control over (1st line supervision).
For 2010 salaries are frozen and bonuses are unlikely. Hiring is at a minimum.
Layoffs are possible.
Advice to Senior Management – The gap between Sr. Leadership and 1st line Supervision compensation continues to grow.
Mistakes made at the Sr. Leadership level are felt strongest in the lower MAST positions.
Typical: Working a consistently 60 hour work week is not casual OT. Accurate tracking of time (1500 code) is frowned up. That leads to a general consensus that there is no integrity, and understanding the true cost of running the business is under-reported.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
