I have been working at PTC Alliance

    Pros

PTC Alliance was a very good company to work for. They paid their employees very well and they did get promotions every year. There were yearly evaluations done and if you were doing a good job you got a raise.

    Cons

The only challenge I had was the CEO like to work from England where he was from and the time change was hard for me. He also did not understand that an apple ipad was the best tool to work on and try to do track changes and send them to me by email. Things were not compatible, it he did no understand that we had a very hard time making him understand that. I turned that one over to the President.

I worked at PTC Alliance full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Potential for high earnings although you will trade your entire life for it. They've made extreme safety improvements although I'd still rate it as one of the most dangerous places to work I've ever seen spanning decades.

    Cons

It takes years to build up enough seniority to make good money for the work you are required to do. The work is tediously physical, you're working in extreme hot and cold, the management on the floor is incredibly inexperienced and self important. We aren't talking normal supervisor behavior we are talking about people who hunt for people to fire or irritate into a frenzy because they enjoy the rush. Stories float around the shop about their conquests like trophies. Virtually everyone in the building is dissatisfied with everyone else and aren't afraid to tell you all about it. Everyone in the building is on edge all day every day and on 7 days a week schedule it's not surprising how low the morale has become.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop stressing everyone to the point of breaking and worry about putting out good tube instead. Hire outside supervisors who have experience with what they're doing instead of using the buddy and family system. Learn how to recognize talent instead of expecting people to fall into a lockstep of muscle memory passed on from others who have no education or desire to improve the system.

    Pros

Better than average wages. Great corporate trips. Big expense accounts.

    Cons

Bankrupt 2 x in past 10 years. Always on the selling block to the next highest bidder. Unrealistic Executive Management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great pay and benefits (if you're an executive). When you as important as these guys, you need to get paid really well.

Not many competitors in this industry.

    Cons

Top management blames everyone else for company's problems when biggest problem is lack of good leadership. Execs work harder trying to sell us than they do trying to find buyers for our products. High turnover in management ranks. Low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourselves. Do it quickly and without any golden parachutes. It's the only chance we have.

P.S. If I could give you guys (Senior Management) a rating of zero stars, I would, but the system makes me give you a 1.

I worked at PTC Alliance full-time

    Pros

    - money was good, but I negotiated a MUCH better salary than my co-workers who had been hired prior to me.

    Cons

ZERO professionalism. No idea of collaboration between departments - every man for himself. Small town and one of only a couple places to work -hence EVERYONE is related. Horribly outdated systems and technology. Executive officers are a joke - making the same decisions and mistakes over and over expecting a different result. MICROMANAGE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in outside professionals to grow and empower employees and spend the necessary funds to enable efficiencies.

    I worked at PTC Alliance

    Pros

Among one of the broadest product capabilities among all mechanical tube manufacturers.

    Cons

Management lacks any leadership capabilities. Employees are treated very poorly. I was baited with a salary that was reduced after I came on board when they went into bankruptcy. There is no way they didn't know where they were headed when they hired me. During the bankruptcy management hid in their offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Broom the group running the company.
