I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You work with very friendly people that are easy to get along with, decent benefits. Work schedule can be adjusted to fit to your liking. Location was convenient to where I lived.

    Cons

Pay isn't completely competitive, other companies pay considerably higher for the same position. Not a lot of room for advancement within the company. Everything done is very micromanaged.

I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Pace is a secure job that's in demand. It is easy to move from a fuel servicer to a mechanic position, also it is easy to move in other available jobs in the company. The pay is ok. My current pay is $23.91

    Cons

It is hard to learn all the mechanical repairs if you came in with little experience. They will teach you what you need to know and any technical jobs they have the same person work on the technical stuff all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure all mechanics know all jobs. This way when someone is sick or quits you will still have a strong staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

minorities are not given a chance to get promoted - minorities should be given equal chance to come up the management ladder Pace has all management of the same color

I worked at Pace Suburban Bus part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There are some people who love to see you make time with the company. They will take you out to learn the routes on their own time while at work. On top of that the pay was good starting at $17.15.

    Cons

You may be approached to work someone else shift which you may be unfamiliar with. Don't make any plans always expect the unexpected to happen. You work long hours. So brace yourself.

    Pros

3 weeks pto, 2 weeks vacations, paid holidays.

    Cons

Micromanagement. Unprofessional leadership. A ton of nepotism and ridiculous office politics. Fighting between departments. Very, very petty leaders.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit and make room for qualified individuals.

  10.

I worked at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working out in the field alone. No micro-management. This was the only good thing about the job for me.

    Cons

Anytime a client call in, they company believes them. You will be written up, cameras vehicles, if someone has something personal against you it'll come into play. You may lose your position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think more of your employees, share more, encourage and acknowledge their efforts. Don't let the only time you speak to them be when you are threatening their position. Retention should be the name of the game, not ne-hires.

I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time

    Pros

Some great people to work with
    Free bus pass
Generally scandal-free, good leadership so not too much of the shenanigans other agencies go through
Benefits are good and reasonably priced

    Cons

Pay is slightly lower than at other transit agencies locally
    Poor communication between department heads
Lack of a clear focus by agency leadership, too many balls in the air
Hard workers often have to pick up the slack for incompetent people who aren't held accountable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase accountability
    Stop your infighting
Do a better job of thanking your employees
