    Pros

Pacer's Dublin OH facility is good and centrally located. Staff were open, friendly, and mutually supportive.

    Cons

HR was weak during my time there but that's typical of HR in most companies: too much bureaucracy, too many rules, etc. Systems needed to be better integrated but those efforts were under way when I left.

    Pros

Fast pace, keeps you on your toes. Logisitcs is an uprising industry that you will have a good experience at Pacer. Employees are friendly.

    Cons

Very threatning environment. Tough to deal with managers and directors expecially in Finance. Mirco management and looking over your shoulders while doing any reporting or analysis. Pay is the worst in the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engage with you employees, really not only through town hall meetings where you just talk and no one contribute. Fire the directors who think that the can do whatever because they have been with the company for a century, these ones are the main cause of the problem.

    Pros

I would say one of the biggest pros is there is a great ability to educate yourself and get in-depth knowledge in a few aspects of transportation.

    Cons

There is a fair amount of turnover and my opinion is that it would be due to lack of on-going training.

Former Employee - Contract Position Onsite At Customer Facility in Saint Louis, MO

I worked at Pacer International as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Pacer had excellent and hard working management; great co-workers to work together as a team. It was truly a fine organization - beautiful office, great lunch area, and an amazing relaxation facility for those lunch times where you just want to be quit and read. They are growth oriented, and customer service oriented.

    Cons

I was sorry I did not live in Ohio; as a contract worker off site, once my contract expired, I lost my job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
