Pros – Above average benefits
Start-up, new venture (in North America) mentality, very motivated & energetic people
Great product (network gear), robust features
Building a strong presence in Scandinavia, Middle East, some Asia

Cons – Lack of realistic, disciplined senior management
"All eggs in one basket" approach assumed fiscal, capital, cash flow problems would be solved once an IPO was done - no "plan B" was ready
Product line that was best in industry was not updated regularly or quickly enough for company to maintain technological leadership position
Cash, capital shortfall, recession, and loss of sales led to severe cutbacks, closure of North American division

Advice to Senior Management – Bring in experienced and motivated senior management
Be realistic in planning, strategy, and forecasts - but set high standards for product r&d, technology development and upgrades, customer support, and marketing

Pros – Job market is exciting.
Salary is competitive.
Benefits are great, included health, dental, life, short and long term disability ins., 401k with 6% match.
Had a good goal oriented bonus program.
International feel and opportunities.
Travel if desire.
Good products and services.
Budgets were adequate.
Group activities were well thought out.
Reimbursements were prompt.
Offices were excellent.
Policies and procedures were defined but not rigid.
Coworkers were well chosen and easy to work with in general.
Helped employees balance both work and family lives.
Were forward thinking in their future business research, development and acquisitions.

Cons – Management communication is lacking.
Market is volatile.

Advice to Senior Management – Realize that it is an international company and communicate accordingly to all branches of the company. Don't forget outlying offices/personnel.
