The culture and innovation Dr Pall had instilled in the company has passed away with him.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Cortland, NY

ProsEmployee stock purchase plan...stock is a good investment.

ConsMore concerned about delivering generic products, than capabilities and innovations that are worth the GM they are seeking.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to find strategic direction and put the right team in place to deliver it.

Tons of talent that is managed very poorly

    Senior Principal Scientist (Former Employee)
    Port Washington, NY

ProsChallenging workload. Stock purchase program can be lucrative, if you have a dime to spare after paying your "fair share" of NY's progressive ("oppressive"?) tax burden and inflated costs. The sky's the limit, but be ready to fight and scrape for every last reward and benefit. I got to travel the globe supporting my business unit. It was kind of nice to visit new places.

ConsWhere to begin? The company is as opaque (that's the opposite of "transparent") as a Mississippi delta. No defined career pathways. No insight into the mechanisms of promotion or advancement. No plans to mentor entry-level analysts/engineers/scientists for eventual internal promotion (i.e., Continuity plan). Sub-standard pay relative to market average, considering NYC metro / Long Island cost of living (unless you're an executive, of course -- Dear Pall HR: You're clueless!!!). Management has neither the initiative nor the incentive to aid or guide you along a career path -- Only politics and strong-arm tactics work.

Advice to Senior ManagementModel the behaviors that you expect of your direct reports. Start following through on all the lip service given at your quarterly/annual meetings, road shows, and town halls. Start recognizing and rewarding your top talent (especially your top techincal talent) before the rest of them find the exit -- You won't be able to outsource innovation once they're all gone. It's going to take you *years* to replace me! How much business (realized and potential) will your short-sightedness cost you? Given all of the talent in the company, your overreliance on consultants is unmerited and dreadfully expensive. You continue to pay these people ridiculous premiums for incomplete work and advice that contradicts the advice of the last batch of consultants that you used. Why not have Pall employees perform Pall work?

    Operator (Former Employee)

ProsThere is nothing about this company that I would recommend to anybody. About the only good thing about this company is the insurance

ConsTreat the workers like slaves, Mandatory overtime, weekends and holidays. We had to work while the management team did not.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat unto others as you would yourself

The corporation is currently focused on meeting current financial targets.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWith the wide scope of their business, they are positioned to succeed when some industries have downturns. There are good future opportunities for the corporation to grow as the world is more focused on being "green", and higher levels of fluid cleanliness are required in some industries.

ConsThe corporation is so focused on the immediate financial targets, that the value of knowledgable employees is overlooked. This will affect the ability of the corporation to retain people going forward.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe employees are as important as the technology.
