I have been working at Pall full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You get to work with people from all over the world, and you work on some pretty unique technologies. The place is getting more energetic with some new people joining. Customers are very loyal, which is good for job security. People really care about doing their jobs well. Cafeteria and gym are nice.

    Cons

Commute to work on Long Island is tough in bad traffic. Cost of living is high. Hours can be long. Some people really care and work long hours. Depressing when others sprint for the door at 5, to sit in traffic.

    Advice to Management

    Offer more internal promotions.

I worked at Pall full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pall has implemented a full suite of SAP solutions which makes for very interesting and empowering tools. Pall also provides excellent employee benefits (medical, retirement, cafe, gymnasium, time off) and a good work/life balance. The company shows strong growth and has a very deep and strong leadership team.

    Cons

Like other companies Pall is focusing on cost rationalization which means that NY is no longer competitive and certain company functions are relocated elsewhere. Although necessary for business this comes at personal expense to those (former) employees directly affected.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the number of outlying locations to a few regional hubs.

    Pros

    Very comfortable and laid back.

    Cons

It is hard to use some of the experience at Pall in other companies as that niche does not exist in other places.

    Advice to Management

    Better structure and openness needed.

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, great people, interesting work, great benefits. I'm really encouraged by what I've seen from the new sr. management team and I think the company has great potential moving forward - it's an exciting time to work for Pall.

    Cons

Compensation is middle of the road. Staffing is extremely lean these days, and the feeling in the office is that the cuts that took place at the bottom of the recession might have been too close to the bone.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing for better business information systems. Implement a fully staffed PMO for R&D with top-down support. Implement a global LIMS system for SLS.

I have been working at Pall full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some great opportunities for people focused on results to shine. The company is moving towards a merit based system. The management team has set a solid vision for the future.

    Cons

Company is going through some major change. Like any company going through change there are always challenges. Some of the decisions are unpopular. Morale has taken a bit of a hit and there's been some staffing changes at the executive level.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the vision that has been set and stay consistent to it.
