Former Employee – worked at Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller full-time for more than a year
Pros – 30 pto days but not allowed to use them
Cons – Quick turnaround. Has seen 5 cio's in 2 years. No value or regard for their employees. They call themselves world class... sure because the world s starts and ends with them. They also rig the best places to work. Show me 1 happy employee at this organization
Advice to Senior Management – No advice is going to work. the elected official thinks she is the best. Very ignorant clerk
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – PTO time and holidays are good.
Cons – Extremely poor working conditions. No scope for growth in IT. Extremely poorly managed IT department with high turnaround. Interim/Contract CIO's who have no idea about IT or business rather than just yell at employees and try to get work done. No management or supervision skills. Management constantly writing up employee's for being a minute late to work(yes literally a minute late). Extremely poor compensation and incorrect titles for employee's in the IT department. Wrongly titled sys analyst.. what the heck is a supervisor?
Advice to Senior Management – Rather than being adamant and 'I know it all' look at the IT business around and try to find efficient ways to manage your business. Your technology is old and out dated

Current Employee – been working at Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller full-time for more than a year
Pros – You have a job if you are willing to take the low pay and work holidays, weekends, and evenings without compensation.
Cons – Low salary (does not register on national surveys) and no professional respect. Clearly IT management does not have the education to manage the rapid growth of IT. Hiring contractors instead of treating current staff professionally (time management & salary)
Advice to Senior Management – Need to be more than IT proficient when managing in IT, management education, management experience, and leadership is required. Just because you know IT does not mean you have the capacity to lead.

Former Employee – worked at Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller full-time
Pros – Still decent benefits even with all the cuts.
Lots of days off.
Some good people.
Cons – * Going on 4th CIO since 2005. Countless managers in all areas of IT. (Do a search on linked in for former IT directors/cios/mgrs/etc)
* Low salary (see job postings)
Just to many to list. Simply contact any former/present employee and most will tell how bad it is.
Advice to Senior Management – Takes more than saying "Become a World Class Organization" to actually become one.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
