Former Employee – worked at Pampered Chef part-time for more than a year
Pros – The start-up bonuses were great incentives. The products are good quality for the most part, and returns/refunds were generally painless.
Cons – The market can be saturated, and hosts that only invite guests they work with get tied up in the excuse, "I'll order one thing, and order something else at the next party." If you don't have a system of following up and spending time with contacts on the phone, it's very hard to expand.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Pros – Lot's of great training, team work and potential for advancement at your own pace.
Cons – Lacking your own mode of tranportation would hinder your own success!
Advice to Senior Management – Keep developing the company the way it's founder did and it'll never fail!

Pros – You are your own boss, the company stands behind its products, you meet the best people and work with motivated and inspirational people who want you to succeed as they have. The incentives are phenomenal and there are a multitude of opportunities for advancement. The only limits to success are the ones you impose upon yourself!
Cons – Can't think of any cons

Current Employee – been working at Pampered Chef part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – I love having the flexibility of hours, I make a decent amount of money for the time i put in, and the hostess benefits really are great! Plus I have a really great director who is super helpful.
Cons – It is sometimes hard to find bookings but I suppose if I put myself out there more, I might be able to get more

Current Employee – been working at Pampered Chef full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great Benefits, friendly employees. Nice working environment with up to date equipment.
Cons – There are some truly TOXIC employees in senior management. At times it feels like I'm back in junior high. Our director encourages employees to "rat" each other out and will often stomp around the office screaming at people. Management should have no say in who you eat lunch with, criticize you for stepping away from your desk to use the restroom, or ask you to spy on their peers. High turnover makes it difficult to build good work teams. IT is very chaotic.
Advice to Senior Management – Realize that some employees are detrimental to the success of the company. Fear and intimidation are not good ways to motivate your staff. If a manager cannot keep their staff for more than 5-6 months at a time, perhaps there is a problem with the manager.

Current Employee – been working at Pampered Chef as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Work as much as you want (if you can get bookings) or as little as you want and get a nice check for very little work.
Cons – No support. My training consisted of a single joint show and a lot of unanswered questions. I am sure there are great senior consultants who train their recruits - I was recruited under a consultant with no experience at this.
Advice to Senior Management – The home office has been great and they provide a lot of resources. I feel there should be mandatory training for consultants recruiting others. A new consultant has a qualifying period, the recruiter should have certain lessons to teach them during that.

Current Employee – been working at Pampered Chef full-time for more than a year
Pros – The legacy of Doris Christopher is very compelling and many of the products are of great quality, even if not always very innovative. Beautiful location. Employeee discounts on products.
Cons – A very delicate business model that needs to have top management supportive of the consultants and RESPECTFUL. This has not been happening since the founder transitioned out of the CEO role. It's a shame really, there are many talented people in the field and the product could be even more creative with the right people in the right jobs.
Advice to Senior Management – Advice to Berkshire Hathaway - take a deeper look at the companies you own - don't allow one very weak CEO to take down an entire company and management team. The Pampered Chef is slowly becoming obsolete - needed a new CEO about 5 years ago.
