    Pros

    Great product, Japanese culture is great. Awesome coworkers most of the time. Very friendly understanding environment. Not bad balance between work and family.

    Cons

    Senior management is adapting Trial and Error method with a lot of guesses than facts, study or taking advise, playing around with employes careers moving them around like chess pieces hoping it will work better, don't really care what you want, experience or where you would be a good fit. Not really looking for real business case, good read on market demand or customer requirement but rather show higher level managers that they are doing a lot of effort and unfortunately same behavior starts to trickle down. So promotions are reserved to whoever cheer for every word senior management say, but hard working knowledgable engineers stay at the bottom unknown till they decide to leave or get pushed out. A lot of meetings, power points and excel sheet with no real progress. And what make it worse is senior management seems to think that having good knowledgable engineers is an option rather than requirement. Horrible marketing department, really really bad. When is the last time you heard an advertisement, article or new technology from Panasonic, trust me they do have a lot I worked there and I know but their marketing group are busy with other stuff than marketing god only knows what it is.

    Advice to Management

    Stop showing off start looking on how to make money rather than trying to impress each others for the sake of this great company. Stop monthly calls that waste everybody's time stop this expensive team meetings that cost the company a lot. If you want to discuss something then lets discuss why did we lose projects and customers and try to fix that.

    This company has a great work environment and the employees do feel valued. The company is continuously making great strides to be cutting edge in its innovations

    Cons

    Room for advancement within the company is very tight and entry level jobs are far and few within any of the companies.

    Dysfunctional at PSCNA with no business leadership skills at the top. 20 year sales veterans don't make strong leaders.

    Pros

    Benefits are good, the Panasonic name is well known despite the dysfunction and looks good on a resume. A few good people.

    Cons

    The company has been trying to transition to solution sales but does not have the right people resources to sell quickly. The solutions architecture team and solutions engineers are a joke. Taking third party software and services, adding points, selling through channel to add more points, does not win business in today's competitive environment.

    Advice to Management

    The employees often wonder and discuss if the President is really clueless. How does he not know that the sector leadership is so poor? They aren't capable of coaching change, can't engage the workforce and many sales team members are embarrassed to even bring them into customer meetings. A SAT team that says "we can do that" but never delivers....do you work at the same place that we do? How do you not know what's really going on?

    Pros

    The product that you are selling is of very high quality

    Cons

    The division of Panasonic I work in (PSCNA) has way too many people in upper management and they are all part of a little club that protect themselves at the expense of everyone else and the overall business. They put forth strategies and initiatives that fail and instead of changing course they continue to stick to their plan as things get worse and worse. Think Titanic.

    Advice to Management

    Look to the few veterans that still remain from the AVT side of PSCNA. Give them an open format where they will not be penalized for giving their honest feedback and then enact a completely new plan and change direction quickly.

    I worked at Panasonic full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    No question during my time with this company the compensation was good, but I had to fight for every level I accomplished along the way. Benefits were excellent especially in today's business environment post Obamacare where so many companies are shifting more and more costs off to employees that the insurance carriers themselves have decided they want to "pocket" as more profit.

    Cons

    NO work life balance. 24/7 connected by e-mail, texts and company supplied devices. Lots of management shift their responsibilities downward and deflect their work to others. Japanese management asks for endless reports on the same subjects over and over until they get the numbers that sorta jive with what they were looking for. Like going in circles? Since the U.S. is a major market for training a lot of their younger managers for future senior roles they are stubborn and hard headed and refuse to listen or understand when a given category, business or market changes. Like it's "our" fault. And usually never they accept blame that perhaps the PRODUCTS were the reason for the business decline or failure and not the tireless and hard working efforts of the American staff.

    Advice to Management

    Need more work life balance (even machines need a rest)! Quit setting up impossible sales targets and start paying fairer bonuses. Listen more to employees. And for the Japanese management- understand that even though Panasonic is Japanese owned that doesn't mean the Japanese staff are always right. Learn to cooperate more with American staff and practice here the same true teamwork and consensus like you do in Japan.

    Pros

    Competitive sales compensation (salary, benefits, car/fuel/insurance, 401K match) Great high-quality products to sell Japanese culture is high on Honor so we are always asked to do the right thing. Investment is High-potential employees

    Cons

    The sales culture is demanding. This is not necessarily bad, but is not for everyone. Division mergers have created some internal challenges Japanese business culture is very conservative. Risk of being left behind by competitors in certain areas Poor marketer - Does not do a very good job of telling customers why Panasonic products are better
