I have been working at Pandora Jewelry full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great job. Since all of the stores are franchised, you have to get lucky in terms of owners. I have a great owner who let's us do our own thing, and isn't constantly down our throats. Great product, customer service, and new releases.

    Cons

Since the stores are franchised, some owners are total dictators who wish to ruin the lives of associates. Lack of movement, do to franchised stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More contact with corporate. Send more corporate workers to the stores.

I have been working at Pandora Jewelry full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits. Good pay. A solid, work hard play hard attitude.

    Cons

Poor communication from leadership. No clear path for advancement. A steady stream of Directors and VPs changing in and out, both in the Americas and at Corporate HQ.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set up better communication for your staff. Have a clear plan for new projects and relationships. Plan product introductions for next year, not that current year just to pad things.

I worked at Pandora Jewelry part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Being able to help customers find what they're looking for, a friendly and pleasant work environment. I was able to learn a little bit about the components of running a small business

    Cons

Repetitive work (cleaning jewelry) and I didn't get as many hours as I would have liked. Also, I felt that the upselling requirement strained the employee-customer relationship

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should train associates for "worst-case" scenarios, such as when an employee thinks a customer might have stolen something, how to deal with customers who try to return obviously used items, etc.

I have been working at Pandora Jewelry full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nice job for college and it looks good on a resume to work with jewelery.

    Cons

Management and owners do not care for the employees. When I worked there they switched managers at least 5 times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Pandora Jewelry full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Working with clients on a personal level
Genuinely matching people with the right product for their needs with a brand you can be proud to represent
Ability for store managers to develop their team
    Entrepreneurial spirit is a must
Your personal business acumen is put to the test

    Cons

    Lack of development for managers
Franchise owners have little understanding of running a functional and consistent business
Constant balance between PANDORA corp and franchise owners directives
Extremely poor communication amongst franchise leadership which leads to inconsistent understanding and performance of stores thus giving the customers very different experiences from store to store (bad for brand ambassadorship)
Lack of professionalism from franchise leadership which trickles down
Little praise or positive reinforcement which means employees must find their own self satisfaction for a job well done
    Little to no employee benefits
Low wages for the work load which could be negated if the level of job satisfaction was high

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A better handle on your franchise owners and how they conduct business would help strengthen your mission and longevity. You have a wonderful product but it is being delivered in an inconsistent way. As you know consistency is the key to a successful future.

The ROMs are not really adding value to the stores where the rubber meets the road. They often become a wedge between franchise owners and their employees. The ROM position should be an influential role thus ensuring a successful development and growth of the business. I believe that their lack of true retail experience has led to a disconnect between what they suggest and what actually works.

I have been working at Pandora Jewelry full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pandora is a great brand and it's fun to sell. It allows you to really connect with your customers, because you're selling them on the unforgettable moments in their life.

Pandora stores are franchised, so how well you like your job will greatly depend on who you work for. I'm lucky in that I worked for fantastic owners who want to better the brand and actually care about the people.

    Cons

Again, it's a franchise which can be confusing to customers and stores with "bad" owners can give the brand a bad name.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As far as Pandora Corporate is concerned, they should do a better job of communicating from the top down.
