Pros
paycheck, medical/dental/vision benefits, air conditioned/heated work environment, not too far to drive, cleaner than most factories, all employees at least fairly fluent in English
Cons
Politics, lack of business ethics within some groups causing confidential information leaks, inconsistent application of policies, constantly changing business direction, constant staff rearrangements
Advice to Senior Management
If another feedback survey is offered, give employees an option to comment in their own words. A survey which has only strongly agree to strongly disagree answers severely limits the candor of the employee completing it.
Pros
informal atmosphere, easy to talk to upper management., quality of product, conservative business attitude, privately held and easily reacts to market change
Cons
never enough time to complete all of work, not much going on around tinley park, public transportation poor in the southern suburbs.
Advice to Senior Management
reward your good people or you will lose them. Give the people the tools to be sucaessful in their job.
Pros
Great work environment in some departments
Management tries to do the right thing
Benefits coming back!
Positively regarded in industry
Cons
long tenure employees who don't know what it's like to work anywhere else
negative people
badging in & out sucks!
Advice to Senior Management
Keep communicating more openly & more often
Spend more time on leadership development and management training - it is really needed!
Pros
Many coworkers were if similar age, and held similar interests. Very professional workplace.
Cons
The hiring process for me (6 years ago) was atrocious. Slow career and salary advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
...treat your workers with respect and they will respond positively. Try to rid the company of all the "politics"
Pros
* Good people to work with
* Good commute
* Good salary
Cons
* Senior managment rules by fear
* Future of company leaves out core business
* Divided into haves and have nots
Advice to Senior Management
Lead without the iron fist
Pros
its a job better than nothing
Cons
everything is downside treat people bad
Advice to Senior Management
quit
Pros
The pay. The foremen aren't too bad considering their education levels. And the warehouse is pretty clean as far as warehouses go.
Cons
Upper management. HR has no clue what is going on. Ever. They need to be more open to new ideas. They need to stop treating their employees like numbers.
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management needs to communicate better with their employees. They are rarely open to conversation with entry level employees. They also have no idea what the warehouse jobs entail. Many of the foremen don't know what is involved in the Tech I and II positions either.
Pros
co-workers are about the only thing that make it worth coming to work everyday.
not a bad 401k package( as long as they don't take it away again)
Cons
management does what they want, when they want, for who they want.
each shift does thing differently, each foreman does thing differently, but managenent
wants things to be the same. there is no communcation between foreman and employees.
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your people, i mean really listen!! the survey you have out right now does nothing to let you know how your employees really feel!!
Pros
Commute
Leaving this company - I've heard from many others who are so much happier now that they've move on
Cons
Negativity everywhere
Lack of fairness in treatment - many managers have favorites
Layoffs occurring while promotions and hiring are going on like crazy
New hires get the life sucked out of them & wonder why in the world they joined this horrible company
Advice to Senior Management
Get feedback from your employees, then actually do something about it
Pros
The only good thing about Panduit is some of the people that work there - NOT upper management! Over 15 years with this company, and I can whole heartedly say this place is NOT the place I started. When 'daddy' Caveney ran it, a person was a person. Not true anymore, and getting worse by the day...
Cons
Every benefit we used to have has been taken away, or drastically cut so that they might as well have taken all of it. Hey guys, what happened to the statement "Panduit doesn't place blame" that's in the training material???? Thats all they do is look to blame someone for something. Moral is so low. Upper management only wants you to work faster, harder, meet that next goal... For what?? Throughout this whole economic crysis, Panduit has GROWN as a conpany - yet they have taken advantage of the situation by stripping its employees of their benefits. They even took away our EARNED vacation time, and are now making us re-earn it. What's that old saying about getting blood out of turnip??? Yet they turn around and spend millions upon millions on a new corp. headquarters - I don't get it. Its sad to say I dread coming into work every day. Its even worse to know its only getting worse as those days go by.
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up - stop overthinking. Fix problems, stop creating more! Treat people like they matter - isn't that how YOU expect to be treated? Make rules that apply to everyone. Be human enough to know that there ARE situations that come up in people's lives that exceptions SHOULD be made. You catch more bees with honey - doesn't it stand to reason that if you create good working conditions, you'd get more work out of your workers???
