Pros
There is no pressure while you are working, yet everybody is doing his job.
Cons
Opportunities for carrier are limited.
Pros
free food when it was closing time, nice around the holiday season for their breads. also paid for lunch was cheap
Cons
way to much stuff you do for the money . very clique evirronement filled with jack donkey people who go no where
Advice to Senior Management
just get it together more, don't focus on yourself focus on the pions then they will work much much harder for you
Pros
The only pros are free trial food when new items came out. Regular customers were nice and some employees were nice to work with.
Cons
Been in the biz for a while and when someone gets hurt the last thing you want done is to be laughed at by the management. And making out an accident report is like asking for their right arm. Training is another thing that lacked a lot!!! But if you knew how to do this or that be prepared to work in 3 different areas just to keep their labor costs down!
Advice to Senior Management
Don't think just because you are 'management' that you are above the employees! You should wear an apron and hat just like us and is it not a violation of the health board not to wear a hat...hmmmm!
Pros
I liked the food and I made a few good friends
Cons
Food isn't healthy
Mangement plays favorites
People have been fired for doing things management have told them to do, which is ridic
Pros
Flexible around schedule
Easy to learn
Get hours you request
Always got more hours if I asked
Checks on time
Cons
Poor management
Barely any promotions
No room to move up in the company
Management does not keep personal life out of job
Advice to Senior Management
Care more about employees, I never received any Christmas gifts or rewards or promotions, even when I was promised some at the interview.
Pros
I thought for my first job Panera would be a fun place to work. Even though I heard horror stories from (NUMEROUS) previous Panera employee's, I went to my hiring interview.
My first day was pretty good, I was shown the ropes by a veteran employee and was made to feel at home. The music at Panera is soothing. The place is clean. The employees are mostly nice. And you will most likely have at least ONE cool manager. The "request off" book is helpful and schedules are printed bi-weekly. "Part-time" is taken literally so if you are looking for a job you only get 8hrs a week from -Panera's your place.
Cons
- Management really gave me an awful taste in my mouth after a month of working there. At first I was getting NO hours. When I asked my manager for more hours (updated my availability) I was given little to work with. Then (coincidentally) I couldn't work one of the days they gave me and told my manager about the cover I found she proceeded to make me feel horrible about myself. She called me "high-maintenance" and laughed at me...let's keep in mind this was the FIRST time I had found cover for a shift.
- Hard to find cover for shifts
- "Part-time"is taken literally. I received 8hrs a week from having an availability of Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri.
- Your usually stuck doing the same thing every week...cleaning up after people in the dining room
- Most of the time your thrown to the wolves; meaning that you have to make a lot of mistakes before you get the hang of things.
- Out of the 25+ people working at my store, there were maybe 10 guys.
- GOSSIIIPP!
- discounts can ONLY be used 4hrs before/after shift, at the store you work at, cannot be used towards family/friends and to top it all off...max of $10.
Advice to Senior Management
Be nice to your employee's... they are people too.
Pros
I love all of my fellow employees. Great discounts. Some awesome regulars.
Cons
The customers, with the exception of some regulars, can be just plain rude. Many come in with the intention of complaining and telling us how much we are doing wrong and how much they hate the restaurant. Better communication through management also needs to be put in place
Advice to Senior Management
Better communication needed, I am always told different things by different managers.
Pros
%50 Discount on meals, relatively easy once you get the hang out of it, generally fun coworkers, better than not having money at all.
Cons
Where to start?
Was asked to be a manager, then told I wasn't going to be.
Promotions are few and far between anyway
Impossible to get hours when you need them, when you don't need them you are over scheduled
Some shift managers scrape by doing very little while others do too much
training is just awful
getting shifts covered is nearly impossible
raises? what raises?
unpaid breaks
Way too much "Do as I say, not as I do"
Almost always understaffed because managers don't help unless it is critical that they help.
Advice to Senior Management
For most people, this is a part time job to get through college, not a career choice, give them a break.
Pros
The few day I worked there was nice because the constumers were very friendly.
Cons
They only called me into work once a month!
Pros
There's opportunities to advance, a diverse work environment, it's a fast paced place to work, rarely dull, and they allow flexibility in scheduling.
Cons
The fast paced environment is not for everyone. The healthcare coverage offered is poor and few have a set schedule.
Advice to Senior Management
It would be nice if everyone would be allowed to purchase full health care coverage as opposed to the limited medical benefits they are now offering.
