Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees and be fair. make all employees accountable for their actions. listen to employees complaints, so they feel they are being listened to.
Pros
easy work
great flexibility
good entry level job
Cons
pay is minimum wage
everyday is boring
no discounts
Pros
Good hours, sometimes. There is opportunity there, but only with the right managers. The pay can be good. Just find a store with a good manager that helps with deliveries and makes sure to be accurate and get a working phone number for the deliveries. One who works with you and is easy to get along with and doesn't blow up if a mistake happens but corrects you without yelling.
Cons
Bad managers. Sometimes bad team members. Who don't get accurate delivery information and make you suffer as a driver, wasting time and gas. Also, managers who yell to get something done. Or to correct someone. And yet again, managers who seem nice but cut hours very low for almost everybody, so everyone except for 2 people are only getting 12 hours a week. That part sucks.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't yell. Actually do your job correctly. Give staff more responsibilities by actually trusting them over time. Be accurate, courteous, and help your store, more than get mad and hurt it, causing a high rate of turnover. Put your store first over your own pay check, and over just covering your own ass, don't be afraid to stand up to upper management, as it is the team members that ultimately run the store, that need to be taught in a proper manner, without scolding, and who need to be encouraged and watched over as they do their job. If that is too much, please leave. This company has enough managers who only do their part, and leave everybody else out in the cold.
Pros
Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule Flexible schedule
Cons
too many hours. 50 hours a week is too much. too many hours. 50 hours a week is too much.
Advice to Senior Management
Reduce amount of required hours for General Managers. Pay for extra hours worked. Reduce amount of required hours for General Managers. Pay for extra hours worked.
Pros
top quality end product, young, invigorated, actively involved CEO. Growing domestically and internationally. With the exception of a few, overall a very good culture in the corporate office.
Cons
Pay and benefits are average or below other similar industries. The company needs to spend more on it's distribution infrastructure.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to make sure that they do adequate pay and benefits reviews with similar companies. When the economy gets better, there will be many people leave for greener pastures.
Pros
Its Easier job to do than most other minimum wage jobs.
Cons
You make less money, you car gets screwed up and no real opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Just raise the salary.
Pros
The in-store coworkers are extremely friendly - like a family! No way to get fired unless you steal money or something drastic for the most part.
GM is a fun and amazing guy who is ALWAYS happy!
Cons
No raise! I've been there for over 2 years now and nothing! (You make minimum.)
No recognition for the work you do!
Little to no hours! One of my coworkers are only scheduled 2.5 hours but she really only gets like an hour since they(management) only uses us for when they can't handle it themselves. On your days off, they'll constantly call you as if you have no life.
Drivers are very greedy when it comes to taking a delivery and they'll throw people under the bus just so they can take 2 deliveries at once! They constantly grab the wrong order and we're forced to remake it all over again!
Advice to Senior Management
Train the drivers BIG TIME! Learn to give recognition and give raises to those who deserve them!
Pros
If you can ever stick around long enough the opening driver does pretty well.
Cons
$5.50 an ho ur, You pay yo ur own gas, and if your car bre aks down it sucks.
Advice to Senior Management
I have no advice because nothing will ever ever ever evr evr evr evr evr evr evr evr evr change.
Pros
Flexible scheduling. At management level you receive a benefits package that includes 401K, health insurance, vacation pay, paid sick leave, and production bonuses.
Cons
Lack of management recruiting within your area may result in 70 to 80 hour work weeks. Ability to successfully meet production goals and receive production bonuses depends more on the trade area you're designated, not your ability to manage. High-stress. Insufficient compensation for shift managers and drivers makes recruiting "the best candidate" a nightmare. Production goals regularly change on a monthly to quarterly basis.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve compensation for shift supervisors to attract more competent candidates. Improve management recruiting to better prepare for any emergencies that arise.
Pros
Flexible, good part time job
Cons
Hours, Pay, advancement, management, owners.
Advice to Senior Management
pay more, treat employees better, make them feel appreciated.
