Great place to work.

Assistant Manager (Current Employee)
Snellville, GA

I have been working at Papa John's part-time for more than 10 years

ProsGood work life balance. A lot of the stores are like a kind of family unit. The pay in my opinion is not like any other restaurant that comparable business type. If you put in the effort, you can learn a lot, especially if you have a good management core. If you work hard you will be successful. You can make a career out of it, and do VERY well.

ConsIf you are in a higher volume store, you will work hard. you will work with people sometimes that don't want to do their share and you have to take up the slack. Sometimes the goals for management are not necessarily realistic, but you understand what they want.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry not to make personnel decisions on desperation. Praise your team when they do something right. Show them the correct way when they do something wrong. Team development does not stop after they have finished the monthly training. Don't have a team member do something you are not willing to do yourself. Lead by example.

I enjoyed being a delivery driver.

Pizza Delivery Driver (Former Employee)

I worked at Papa John's part-time for more than a year

ProsFlexible hours, pay is commensurate with work effort as a driver.

ConsPay is mostly tips, which can fluctuate a lot. If you're overstaffed, everyone makes less money. Also it seems some days, people are more generous than others.

Great pizza place to work at!

Cashier (Former Employee)
Vancouver, BC (Canada)

I worked at Papa John's part-time for less than a year

Pros-Papa John's offers flexible working time, great wage, and nice work environment
-Certainly, it feels like there are more pros than cons

Cons-As mentioned before, it feels like there are more pros than cons
-Average or maybe a bit below-average management or supervision

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is not much that I want to really state to the management. I sort of suggest that they care more about the supervisors present at work.

Good first job

Shift Leader (Current Employee)
Jacksonville, FL

I have been working at Papa John's part-time for more than 5 years

ProsFlexible hours and fun environment. Good store managers that really work to do the right thing. Great first job to build your skills and become a leader.

ConsLow Pay and hard to get raises. It can be stressful at times. Upper management is very profit focused and sees everything as a cost that needs to be reduced leading to poor long-term growth.
