I worked at Papa John's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Super competitive high paced job that doesn't require suit and tie. Typical restaurant job analyzing restaurant goals and how to achieve them.

    Cons

Not for the family man or women. Sixty plus hours a weeks 7 days a week and glued to your phone. Can get repetitive and given unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to Management

Talk to actual operators on how to implement product or processes. Eliminate opportunities to surcumvent certain expectations both operationally and statistically.

I worked at Papa John's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers--spunky people really made the experience. Periodic free pizza from messed up pizza orders. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Upper management was more overbearing than helpful. My boss didn't even like the manager that was over our area, and he would storm in and send people home over slightly incorrect socks, etc.

    Advice to Management

I know you wanted to create a certain image, but flexibility and positive feedback will go a long way with your employees.

    Cons

Smell like pizza all day, be surrounded by pizza all day

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people to work with Working Fridays and during big specials can be somewhat lucrative They often give raises A lot of opportunities for free food (mainly with cancelled orders and mistakes) You learn how to make pizza

    Cons

Compensation often doesn't cover gas expenses Very disorganized Upper management doesn't seem to care Inconsistent earnings Officially not allowed to get free pizza for yourself

    Advice to Management

You should pay your drivers minimum wage to make the pay more fair like other pizza companies. Also should officially allow employees to make themselves pizza any work day.

I worked at Papa John's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at the corporate office, good location, good benefits. They really downsized from when I first started but it seems to be changing for the better recently.

    Cons

Had a boss that completely snowed other management, she was the original horrible boss. They thought she was wonderful, she received a promotion, but eventually she was found out and she "decided to chose another employment opportunity" thank god. She's not in the industry now, different line of work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to long term employees, and don't always look at the bottom line. Constant change is not always a good thing.

Making new pizza every month and getting to try it for free. Having a flexible schedule. Getting tips. Based on performance you could be promoted to a shift runner (manager).

    Cons

You'll be working longer or shorter hours than expected in different seasons.

I have been working at Papa John's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people who work work are very motivated and caring. This is a great company to 'grow up in' as an employee.

    Cons

Lack of communication between upper and lower management, certain things go without fixing for a while. Underpaid for master team members and up

    Advice to Management

They should not worry so much about their bonuses and worry more about the quality of their stores and managers.

I worked at Papa John's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mileage paid, flexible hours, fun people to work with, interesting people to meet and help.

    Cons

Lots of car issues are likely to occur. Sometimes management cares more about themselves than the employees.

    Advice to Management

Look out for your employees and treat them like they matter. Be understanding if our car breaks down because it is not always our fault.
