I have been working at Papa John's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most of the staff I grew close to, calling them my friends, even as I went from driver to shift leader.

    Cons

At will policy is abused from management side. Missed a day? First and only warning. Some don't even get that. Many employees are ones who have never had a job before, which is fine, but management never takes the time to actually get to know the potential employee before hiring them, usually on the spot.

There is next to no room to grow. If there's a managerial spot open and you know all the skills, then you -may- be asked if you want the position. Other than that, drivers stay drivers, and shift leaders get nothing else. There's no benefits from being a manager: no consistent work schedule, no benefits, no incentives to do more. Hours can fluctuate drastically, and can stay like that for long periods of time. I was working an easy 38+ hours when I started, and even though business has picked up, my hours have been slowly cut over the past months, sitting just about 33 hours, and that's with closing times scheduled into it, which you never actually get to work.

The owners pinch every penny they can, quick to cut corners and hours whenever they can. No one wants to be stuck here due to the fact that the pay is lacking, the hours are dwindling, and they fail to properly train new hires, dumping everything onto the shift leaders, who are overworked and underpaid. We're expected to drop whatever we're doing (even if we're out of town or on vacation), and rush to their aid whenever they want, but if we request the same, we're snubbed and told to deal with it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your shift leaders and drivers. You may be here at the end of the day if we all quit or if you fire all of us, but without us, you have no one to run your store.

I worked at Papa John's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most Papa John's stores are willing to work with you in-terms of hours, so this is an ideal job for a student.
Working as a delivery driver can bring in good tips depending upon the area served.

    Cons

Since it is a franchise the quality of management varies widely from store to store.
Compensation is kept to a minimum, so don't expect any raises within the first year over 50c.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use compensation as a way to motivate employees to perform better.

I worked at Papa John's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

If " i was getting paid" is the only pro about working there for me . But I guess another pro is that I got free food and they didn't interview me.

    Cons

The managers were unreasonable. The schedule were inconsistent . The male employees were inappropriate towards the female ones and its was just not somewhere I could stay. Plus the conditions of how to food was kept in wasn't the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change managers.

I worked at Papa John's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

As a driver you make decent money, as a line cook you learn a lot.

    Cons

They put you through very tedious U-Learns which is basically online learning.
They substitute actual hands on training with U Learns and expect you to be ready to jump right in to the work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better pay
    Better management.
Less reliance on "U-Learns" and more on actual hands-on training.
