I worked at Papa John's part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good manager, gained customer facing experience

    Cons

Customers aren't fun to work with. High turnover rate for employees so you don't get long lasting relationships with coworkers

I worked at Papa John's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

-The tips were amazing! I made so much money working here
-The people were nice and very helpful with teaching me new things
-The pizza is amazing and you get a discount on it!

    Cons

-I felt unsafe delivering to a lot of places in the delivery area
-Management had the store understaffed and expected employees to work more than their scheduled hours. Not just 30 minutes after the scheduled time, but 2 or 3 hours. If you have a family or go to school, it's going to be frustrating.
-I told management I needed to get off work at my scheduled time or slightly after, and they agreed to make an effort to do this. Other employees gave me slack because they had families to get home to and I "just" had to go to school.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Hire more people
-Don't make female workers take deliveries to the sketchy areas

    I worked at Papa John's

    Pros

Papa John's was my first REAL job and when I first starting working as an in-store I loved it. Short shifts but still received plenty of hours. Lots of room to grow and be promoted. Working here will teach the value of hard work.

    Cons

Human resources nor management know how to handle conflicts among workers. Management tends to play favorites with hours.

I worked at Papa John's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

When you have a lot of deliveries you don't have to be inside dealing all the drama in there or having to inside work. If you work in an affluent area, you can make a lot of money through tips.

    Cons

The manager at the store I worked out was a nightmare. They were one of those people who are nice one minute then downright evil the next. I was going to school while working here and they would try to call me to come in on my days off even when I gave them my schedule months in advance. They wouldn't give you 40 hours in a week either. The most you could get was 30-35 usually.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to better research management candidates. Don't hire crazy ones. Allow for anonymous reviews of management by employees if such a policy is not already in place. Pay a higher delivery assurance fee (i.e. what you get no matter what per delivery) for areas that have low tippers and/or higher crime rates. Provide bullet proof vests, self defense training, and concealed weapons permits (and weapons) to drivers in higher crime rate areas.Teach management to not harass employees on their scheduled time off especially when they have given availability months ahead of time. Pay more than minimum wage. Minimum wage is not sufficient for anyone to do this as a full-time sole income job. Provide better opportunities for advancement or at least make them more clearly known.

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible scheduling. Easy to get time off when needed. Occasional good tips.

    Cons

Bad or no tips compared to other locations in larger markets. Most co-workers, including some shift leaders are lazy. Need higher pay when on road to compensate for lack of tips. Currently $4/hr when delivering. No fulltime positions except store manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house, get rid of bad help. Interview employees, don't just hire anyone that wants a job.
