Pros – Job is not very tough, is not physically demanding and who doesn't want to make pizza. My manager and owner really knew what they were doing.
Cons – Not the greatest pay unless you get a promotion. The main days to work are staurday and friday night so it takes up your weekend

Former Employee – worked at Papa Murphys
Pros – The job is easy, like ridiculously easy. All you had to do was memorize how to make 15 pizzas and answer phone calls.
Cons – The management is terrible, and in my case the owner treated employees with such disrespect I can't imagine anyone staying there for long.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees and managers like they're human beings, not in a passive aggressive manner that will make them hate coming to work.

Pros – This is a review for working in the store, not working for PMI. I would highly recommend Papa Murphy's as a first job. It is not the place you want to spend the rest of your life, but it will help pay for things during high school or college and you will enjoy the work you do. Plus, there are no ovens except for samples so you don't get hot and greasy like many food service places.
Cons – A store manager is as high as you can get, and there are no benefits. However it is the same for every other similar job in this level of food service. The cons of this job is low pay (similar to all food service) and generally the sames cons of any food service job.
Advice to Senior Management – Do raises and promotions based on skill level not on years of experience. It will make the good employees stick around because they feel appreciated more.

Current Employee – been working at Papa Murphys
Pros – Hours are great. Only open from 11am to 9pm.
Air Conditioned working environment
Low, low volume, so lower stress than your typical job.
Cons – No communication between upper level management and anyone who works in a store.
No truth to any of their printed policies.
Advice to Senior Management – Get your heads out of your asses, your product is not nearly as good as you think it is, especially in areas that are passionate about pizza. Your "system" does not work everywhere.

Former Employee – worked at Papa Murphys
Pros – Good awareness of employee needs for occasional time off for personal matters. Better than average pay for type of work.
Cons – Management is very over-stretched and tends to take this out on employees. Junior management does not confer with senior management over actions taking, leading to avoidable reprimand. Management offers little to no feedback on job performance. Management does not employ a diverse workforce.
Advice to Senior Management – Before embarking on ambitious expansion plans, consider the needs of present employees and the stability of the workplace. Management spread too thin leaves the impression of apathy.

Former Employee – worked at Papa Murphys part-time for less than a year
Pros – Its a nice place to work and because it is a franchise it has a bit more of that family business vibe to it. My boss was really flexible with hours, which was nice.
Cons – It was a lot of hard work. If you dont like dishwashing, this is definitely not the job for you. You also have to have a great memory in order to be an efficient pizza maker, which I wasnt expecting. Alsom my boss was not very professional. He had taken a quick course in business before taking over the store and was unprepared. He was obsessive over not wasting anything/PRECISE measurements and food costs. I went in to check the two week schedule and my name wasnt on there. I guess I surprised him because he came out of his office and started sputtering and stuttering when I asked why i wasnt scheduled. I dont exactly know why I was "let go", he said I didnt do anything wrong but I honestly couldnt understand his reasoning through his fumbled words. He said he'd give me a good review for anywhere I wanted to work and that I could always use him as a good reference, so Im not too upset. I just would have liked a proper sit down or something.

Current Employee – been working at Papa Murphys full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Flexibility in scheduling, pretty nice company, corporation has lot of contests and games that make working for them more interesting and fun
Cons – Different owners means different store attitude. Some are very generous, some are not. Have to work saturdays if a manager, not a lot of room for advancement if already a manager.
Advice to Senior Management – Do a better job of insuring owner involvement in all the stores owned by them. Make sure they come to the store on a regular bases
