I worked at Papa Murphys part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Free/discounted pizza
    - Co-workers
    - Fun atmosphere (at first)
    - Closed at descent hours
    - Clean & fresh enviroment

    Cons

    - Poor management
    - Management will gossip about you in the "office" where they are clearly heard
    - Managers change often
    - Unprofessional
    - Will not listen to your suggestions
    - Too young/inexperienced managers (16-18)
    - Drama like you're back in high school
    - Hours often cut
    - Often have to prep EVERYTHING by yourself in the mornings
    - Owner had no idea how to make a pizza yet strictly enforced rules on employees
    - LOTS of favoritism (hours, raises & treatment)
    - Promises raises, but none received
    - Lots of work for little pay
    - Constant cleaning (even staying after hours to do dishes/sweep/vacuum/scrub)
    - Theft by employees (and other employees getting blamed/fired)
    - Higher positions granted to young new employees, while older & hard working employees receive no encouragement/attention/advancement
    - If a "favorite" employee doesn't like you and creates lies about you to management, they will punish/accuse/fire with no proof based on word of mouth
    - Treat employees unfairly/rudely
    - New management is bad at inventory (so much dough would expire/not ordering items)
    - Gossip
    - Tips employees collect go to the company/register and not to those employees who earned them
    - Fun at first but new management took over and all this happened ^^^

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees fair! It's incredibly unprofessional to gossip about your employees (within hearing distance). It's also horrible that management bases decisions on word of mouth (ex. an employee was stealing from the register weekly and blamed another innocent employee & the stealing employee became MANAGER while the innocent employee got fired.) Your hours will get cut solely on whether the managers like you or not. Also many "crew members" got demoted to holding signs outside in the heat when we had SPECIFIC employees to do just that. They will not listen to your advice/suggestions. The owner of the one I worked at LACKED so much experience and was stubborn in his ways to grow as a professional owner. It's also sad when there's plenty of hard working employees (who literally had no complaints) would not promoted to shift supervisor, while brand new, young (15 or 16 years old) employees would be promoted to higher positions. Papa Murphy's lacks communication and will just fire you/let you go with no reasoning and no notice. Other ones may be MUCH better than this but don't get stuck like I did and know that you will gain experience & knowledge, but leave when you feel uncomfortable because after just a few months, this PM went down the drain.

    Pros

Fun people, fun job, mostly good customers

    Cons

Physical labor, corporate making big changes at once that both employees and customers are not happy about

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't change a good thing. They should either ask their employees what to do or actually work in a store for a week and see how it is

    Pros

    The job isn't difficult

    Sometimes dealing with picky/rude people

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train owners better instead of just selling 'the dream' so that they are useful and understand how the business works instead of confused, alone, stressed and in the way of the experienced staff.

I have been working at Papa Murphys full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great for Kids, Great place to make life long connections, Good first job.

    Cons

The corporation is more fixated on how little they can pay out, than they are on how profitable they can be. They have no sense of employee retention. and instead of terminating, they suspend you for two weeks, sometimes without proper reasoning, and hand you your final check on your first day back. really not a good place to advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your store managers adequately. Also, nobody should be running a company store individually. Pay out the bonuses promised to managers. don't tell your subordinates to "Figure it out" when they tell you they have worked 70 hours on an accounted 35 hour week.
