    Great company for management experience.

    Manager (Former Employee)

    ProsVery structured and detail oriented.

ConsLong hours, unpredictable schedule, any upward movement usually requires someone else quitting.

Good company to work for, enjoyed my time there.

    Headwaiter/Bartender/Banquet (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsUsually pretty easy to get shifts covered, promotions within the company if you show good qualities. Made pretty good money, especially during holidays.

ConsLong hours, late nights. Management sometimes gets a "power trip" and can be difficult to work with. Overstaffing on slow days, understaffing on busy days.

Great people great food great fun

    Server/Bartender\mit (Former Employee)
    Fort Worth, TX

ProsThe people be like family and the discount on the food is great, especially when you become a manager. Tips are not bad due to high menu costs.

ConsAdvancement opportunities are not available that often. Tenure doesn't mean much to management. Crazy holiday business

Advice to Senior ManagementMy managers were great it was the upper and main office teams that made tough calls that made working there more difficult then it had to be

Good money for part-time if you have Patience

    Waiter (Current Employee)
    Cincinnati, OH

ProsThis job is great to make money. On a good weekend you could walk home with tons of money. The training is long, but afterwards you do have a great understanding of the menu. Base hourly pay is above state minimum. Any outside training before a work shift would include food along with higher hourly pay.

ConsLong hours with no breaks or consideration for breaks. If you complain the managers are quick to remind you how much money you are making and where the door is. Favoritism can be an issue and it is important to make your self known, or you will be forgotten. Some shifts can be dead

Advice to Senior ManagementThe host have to much power. They are great at stereotyping people and giving the tables they believe to pay more to the people they like or managers like. When working for 11 hours a break is nice too. Some managers are your best friends and others just like to be heard.

    Overworked

    Server (Current Employee)
    Fort Worth, TX

ProsPotential to make tons of money, reputable company, great training program, e-learning's really help you learn the products, great place to loose weight.

ConsOverworked and under-payed, majority of clientele does not tip properly for the amount of work exhausted (African Americans), no time off allowed (can not take a vacation without paying people to cover your shifts), only few of the managers have prior management experience and play favorites (friends of managers = good sections = quality clients = better pay), sometimes you can go 12 hours with no breaks and are not allowed to leave the building under any circumstance... If you do you will be fired. Turn-over rate is insane. People come and go on a daily basis. Yes, you are compensated for dry-cleaning cost but don't expect to ever see the reimbursement. Though you are reimbursed per shift you work.. The reimbursement is gone after your taxes are taken out of your check.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire experienced restaurant managers, reimburse employees for dry-cleaning as non-taxable. Allow employees to request time off if needed. Offer benefits to employees that work consistantly 30-40 hours per week.

    Good Money for Short-Term Job

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsTraining is the most intense that I've ever been through to wait tables, but it is effective and makes you a better server over all. The money was steady, and the solid kitchen made returned items few and far between.

ConsManagement is hit or miss and will favor certain waitstaff for promotions--even if that particular team member isn't as strong or effective. Side work can be tedious and varied from server to server, depending on how much the particular manager in charge working that night liked you.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake more time to objectively consider who you bring in to management.

Excellent. I learned much when working with this company.

    Waiter (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsExcellent training program for new waiters. Above average price point menu, effective and motivated waitstaff can earn respectable wages. Most locations are popular with good crowds.

ConsManagers promoted from within are often cherry-picked from the wait-staff. Very often those managers are poorly trained, and lack confidence in problem solving often leading to less than ideal outcomes for all parties involved.

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement a training program for new managers that is as rigid and robust as the one in place for wait-staff.

I wish you guys would treat your servers better.

    Server (Former Employee)
    Norcross, GA

ProsCo-workers were super cool, excellent team work and ok money.

ConsManagement is young and lazy. Shows alot of favoritism and will write you up for nothing. If you work a double you will NOT eat! The rules do NOT apply to everyone. Expect to hear a lot of vulgarity.

Advice to Senior ManagementYour manager training should be more arduous than the server training.

    Great place to work

    Headwaiter (Former Employee)
    Richardson, TX

ProsI worked at pappadaeux richardson for more than 8 years. James Graham is the best leader I ever worked for, I had no big issue with anyone one whither management or staff. it was a great experience as it was my first job in the US. If you work hard, you will make money and you will move to the higher position if you desire. To conclude, James Graham is the one made pappadaeux at Richardson is the best place to work.

ConsAccent, but with a great attitude, I was # 1 server in richardson.
