I have been working at Parallels full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I work with an incredibly talented, supportive team who have my back in our work projects, collaborative launches, and even if I have a personal crisis (a death in the family recently). Parallels really does believe in encouraging life/work balance, and the importance of family. That said, this is a fast paced, busy environment to work in that requires focus and provides absorbing projects.

    Cons

Deadlines can be tight and working with an international team requires extra turnaround time.

I have been working at Parallels full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast growing, high paced environment with a global touch.
Very intelligent people with great innovative ideas.
Everyone is very friendly and makes and effort to be friendly.
There is a new wave of leadership that has come in which makes this place an even more exciting place to be.

    Cons

Communication can be a struggle at times, but it is getting better as we continue to build out the strong leadership and departmental relationships. Offices are located in Renton which can be quite a journey for those that live near the city.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to the employees opinions and show that you care.

I have been working at Parallels full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice mix of casual work environment and extremely driven workforce. Nearly everyone at Parallels has a very strong work ethic and strives to produce the best for our partners and end users. Generous PTO policy, fun internal and external events, a plethora of complementary options to keep yourself caffeinated, along with the opportunity to interact with peers all over the world make this a great place to work.

    Cons

Although overall compensation package is quite good, Parallels does not match 401K contributions. If you are someone who only likes to put in 40 hours a week you might not be a good fit...we work hard here!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please consider adding at least a small match to 401K contributions.

I worked at Parallels full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very cool technology for building cloud based solutions for telcos and hosters. Some very nice folks that work there. Pay and benefits are good.

    Cons

Company appears to be run by Russian based dev and engineering teams that don't appear to understand how to do business with US based customers. They expect US based folks to attend meetings with Russia at very odd times. The engineering teams appear to lack common engineering criteria on developing software. Which can make the product very hard to use.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establish common engineering criteria for all products. Understand the US market and the bar that is needed to sell software to US based customers.
