I worked at Paris Baguette full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The managers (at least one of whom is no longer with the company) were very easy to get along with. - Opportunity to work many hours

    Cons

    - For a minimum wage job, you are worked fairly hard. - Shifts can be long with very little break

    Advice to Management

Pay employees more than minimum wage.

I worked at Paris Baguette full-time

    Pros

Great hours if you can wake up early. Done with work at about 2. Bay Area upper management is great. Joshua makes sure he knows your name and always asks for your input for the store you work at

    Cons

Unless out on salary wages are not very good. U.S. Upper management comes a few times a year and they ignore the workers

    Advice to Management

Bay Area management is great. Ray and Joshua are phenomenal. U.S. Management seems to alienate themselves from the shift workers and are not seen in a good light by most store employees.

    Pros

If you're the type to like high school cliques and the whole korean church hakwon vibe then you'd probably like working here. Discount on food and free bread and drinks..but it's pretty cheap to begin with so..

    Cons

it's a korean work hierarchy so that means management trying to milk you for average pay. also.. not really anywhere to go within the company.

    Advice to Management

try not to let what little power you have get to your head.. we're all in the same boat if we work here.

I have been working at Paris Baguette full-time

    Pros

Good place to work with friendly, family-like environment. You're capable of learning and obtaining managerial skills only upon your motivation and dedication.

    Cons

Pays too weak. For the amount of work given, it seems like getting promoted in the future is not even worth trying.

    Advice to Management

Help grow potential workers quickly into the position they belong before you lose many great employees.

    Pros

Pretty fun to work at. People seem to have their own groups already, but everyone is super friendly and nice!

    Cons

Management could be better. There was a day we didn't have a shift leader or manager present but we somehow made it work

  9. Not that much benefits but had fun working

I worked at Paris Baguette part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to meet some really nice regulars. And if you are a people person, this job isn't all that bad...You get employee discounts and can eat 2 pastries a day (rules might have changed now). If you get lucky, you get to know some awesome co-workers.

    Cons

If you end up with a store manager who doesn't know how to do their job, you are screwed. Most of the people that work here are fairly young so you can end up with immature kids. And sometimes the customers get really annoying and picky with their food. HQ really gets stingy and tries to stop store employees from using coffee cups. You might have to take your own cup to work. Some of the machines are outdated and broken but HQ takes a long time to replace them so most of the time the store manager or leader had to buy things with their own money - get reimbursement later.

    Pros

You get a 20% off employee discount and get two free bread

    Cons

Most of the time I have no lunch time although I work about 6-8 hours a day.

  11. The customer is rarely wrong, corporate is never wrong, so who is? Must be sales.

I worked at Paris Baguette part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    • Fairly casual work environment • Can learn how to do latte art if working in Sales • Lax unpaid vacation policy (provided advanced notice to manager) • Simple relocation process if changing to another store branch • Free pastry during breaks

    Cons

    • Very little room for career growth beyond a shift supervisor. Branch managers are almost always Korean and some assistant managers are hired with little/no experience in the company (hired from outside source). • Corporate does not communicate new information efficiently to PB branches, so many managers are misinformed on promotions and new items, thus Sales Dept. ends up bearing the frustrations of customers when there is confusion. • Starting pay is lower than competing fast-food/service locations, and raises are uncommon due to lack of scheduled evaluations. • Micromanaging, narrow-minded corporate -- Corporate expects all branches of Paris Baguette to run in the EXACT same way despite the wide variation in store size, location, architectural design and layout, customer count, worker count. Will make frequent visits to branches to make sure that their demands are met without understanding the differences between stores. • Tip distribution is not transparent. • No efficient way to relay information to all store employees. Either find out about a new procedure through word of mouth eventually or when you get called out by a manager or someone from corporate. • Sales Crew is the scapegoat whenever a customer is dissatisfied or something goes wrong in the store.

    Advice to Management

    • Understand that not all PB stores can operate in the exact same way due to varying circumstances. • All employees, not just Sales Crew, are responsible for making a customer's experience enjoyable. Other departments also represent PB and should be trained to be professional when in front of customers.
