I have been working at Park City Mountain Resort full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The people, PCMR is a very close knit ski resort, everyone kind of knows everyone. Ski pass for self, family and friends. Continuous years of service dinner. The history. The snow. Family owned company.

    Cons

Managements not listening to employees concerns and complaints. Low pay. Lack of opportunity within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. If someone has been with the company for years have the opportunities for them to grow in the company. Make sure those people are offered the benefits that they deserve for their loyalty. Other companies take pride in taking care of their employees, its time the ski industry did the same. Anyway Vail has taken over now, we'll see what happens.

I worked at Park City Mountain Resort full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of free snowboarding. Also got to meet a lot of unique people from all over the world.

    Cons

Never knowing if you're going to get a lesson, and thus paid. Got really bad when tourism slowed with the economy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you're going to charge $1125 ($225 x 5 kids) for a Signature 5 lesson, please pay your instructors more than $90 a day. ($15.00/hr x 6 hr lesson.) Because seriously, no one tips anymore. The instructors you've got left are just there for a free Season pass and could care less if the guests ever come back.
