    Pros

Great benefits, friendly co-workers, close to home

    Cons

If you don't have some type of degree, you are looked down upon. The managers of the departments are constantly in meetings so that they are not they enough to manage their departments. The pay is too low for the clerical staff. The only people who get praise is the higher up employees not the ones that are doing the crap work. Managers are only hired if they have a degree. It doesn't matter about experience at all. Another major con is the fact that even though your doctor has an office in the same building, they are no longer allowed to be your doctor in the hospital. You have to see the hospitalist that has no idea of your medical history.

    Advice to Management

You don't need that much training. If you do, then you shouldn't be a manager.

    Pros

Cultural Diversity, convenient location for public transit.

    Cons

Pathology Lab staffs are incompetent to perform their duties. Too much gossips in the lower division area. They stab each other in the back, yet act like they are friends in front of each other's. It's a vicious cycle environment. They chew each other up and spit each other's out, and the cycle repeats itself.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to screen for competent employee. Otherwise you cannot get quality if you keep hiring people with or without High School Diploma, and no medical training education background.

    Pros

Overall, good company, very caring with patients

    Cons

Not all are offered sufficient training, mostly geared to medical

    Advice to Management

update your training programs, create a significant employee liaison department to assist the employee. Also, need a group to handle employee medical issues when they are patients....definite gap in caring for employees

    Pros

Great learning environment and exposure to many disease processes

    Cons

Stress is very high, training is by licensed nurses and not professional instructors, will have to sign a contract of money to pay back to hospital without getting a degree. The money is as much as tuition at a college.

    Advice to Management

Teach on the job training long enough to be a safe worker.
