    Pros

Interesting place to work at. Management reach out to staff to help them understand what is needed for them to fufill their role.

    Cons

Pay package could be improve. Although they maintain the market rate, it is no sufficient to maintain good staff when other companies are willing to pay higher amount of salary to them.

    Advice to Management

Overall it is a good company to work at. however if salary can be adjusted, it will be better. Taking the average of national salary for engineers are good but there are always higher paying company.

    Pros

The location of the office was convenient

    Cons

This company doesn't value or respect support staff. It's a very political company run by a small group of old men. At one point it was made very clear to me that if I didn't 'volunteer' for a political candidate's campaign who I did not support that I would be fired. Also, I found that the younger women were treated with blatant favoritism over women who were more mature.

    Advice to Management

They could care less and so I won't respond.

Talented employees who want and strive to produce quality products and service. Compensation is within the norm. Good medical benefits.

    Cons

More emphasis should be placed on minority recruitment. 401K matching is low.

    Advice to Management

Maintain communication between all levels of employees.

  6. PB used to be good place to work before the acquisitions with WSP happened.

    Pros

Broad range of projects to work in, plenty of travel, most of the projects are non-local, which gives great experience

    Cons

A big company like this is very slow to adapt and keep up with modern advancements. Lots of red tape to get through to get anywhere. Upper management is full of older people stuck in their ways, and will try to help you advance. wages are on the lower side of average, benefits are slowly getting worse and worse.

    Advice to Management

adapt, listen to the staff and adapt to the times, or your best staff will leave to rivals who will offer more.

    Pros

Parsons Brickerhoff is a good company with national reach. You can see the immediate impact of the projects you work on.

    Cons

    Pros

Power plant projects that PB gets to work on are good projects with ample scope and opportunity to learn new things .

    Cons

Old employees/managers at the company run the show. Young people do not have a say and are not appreciated by management . Lot of favoritism in the company . Your work here will not be rewarded and you will not be recognized . Working here will be a waste of your time and career . No raises and employee salary reviews are skipped. No employee training or seminars --- management has their own interests in mind . No standard procedure that managers and employees follow -- managers do as they want. No communication from managers to employees --- employees are told at the last minute about key decisions .

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone equally with no favoritism . Listen to new ideas from young people -- you may pick up a few fresh ideas . Conduct regular employee salary reviews . Raises are appreciated by employees. Invest in employees through yearly training, seminars .

    Pros

The company has an excellent reputation as a top-notch engineering firm. Employees take great pride in knowing that PB was instrumental in building the original NYC subway, developing early rail lines in China, and that PB continues to be part of important and exciting projects around the world.

    Cons

Shortly after being hired by this engineering leader it became clear that the company under-values any employee serving in a support role. They've already cut staff, limited increases and promotions, and removed everything that might improve employee morale in their quest to maximize profits and reward senior management and engineers. This employee questions the ethics of the company leaders who promote these policies.

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate the policies that impact your administrative and support staff. You may consider us expendable - but we are real people with families and mortgages and dreams. We deserve to be treated as the valuable contributors we are.
