    Former Prevention worker

Former Employee - Clinician in Albany, NY

    Pros

You will get lots of good clinical experience in the program, great if you are not licensed at this time. Was able to do my licensing hours with no issues. Wonderful supervisors and a director who really cares about safety for not only the children and families, but also for the workers. Great experience in dealing with collateral contacts, and amazing trainings!

    Cons

The pay is tough to handle with student loan debt, and does not really improve over the time spent there. You use your own car, which is tough wear and tear over time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please listen to staff as they get more experience, the "joy" of working there is not enough to keep people happy. Staff need to be compensated fairly, and cost of living increases are necessary.

    Pros

Co-workers can be fun and interesting. Sense of being part of something important

    Cons

Lots of disinformation passed by Senior Administrators, favoritism, age discrimination.
Afraid of state regs. Compromise safety of staff(and shildren/students) as well as values in order to maintain funding streams. Force staff to forge and fake reports and documents. Routinely over capacity and understaffed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change for change's sake isn't a mission statement.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    Liberal leave policy
HR department that works with staff
Ability to move to different programs if so desired
    Best CEO ever

    Cons

The health insurance is not great. When you work away from the main campus it is sometimes difficult to feel part f the agency as a whole.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give us more options when it comes to benefits. Even if we have to pay more, it would be great to have a choice of insurance providers.
