Current Employee – been working at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than a year
Pros – Excellent environment for the young and old. Don't treat interns like cheap labor. I come to work everyday with tasks and I am an asset to the project unlike other internships I have had.
Cons – Work moves around for Parsons, if you get hired on for full time you will almost have to be willing to relocate. To some that is not a con but I am not finished with school yet.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to treat interns as a part of the organization. You get out of interns what you put into them, if they feel unwanted and taken advantage of it will be a waste of time and money for the company.

Former Employee – worked at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – there are several interesting projects to work on; interfacing with the client is a big part of the job. the company is employee-owned, so the retirement benefits are better than most competitors.
Cons – it's a big company and often it seems hard to be recognized, especially as a younger engineer in his first job out of college; the annual increase in pay should be more for recent grads.
Advice to Senior Management – for recent grads, the annual increase in pay (as a percentage) should be significantly higher; it encourages people to leave.

Current Employee – been working at Parsons Corporation full-time for less than a year
Pros – 1. Safety is priority.
2. Quality in everything they do.
3. Employees are highly regarded and are the reason for their amazing success.
4. Great Benefits.
5. Higher than the average or most competitive salaries in the industry of choice.
6. Too many to list
Cons – They are so global that when projects finish you might have to travel to various locations however they offset that with a robust compensation package. Even the con is a pro!!
Advice to Senior Management – Please don't change a thing! Your values will further the growth of this amazing company.

Current Employee – been working at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Large company with many amazing opportunities to work on historic landmark projects. Currently placing a lot of emphasis on early career professionals. If you are young and can get into the ECP program you will do well at Parsons. Lost of great people working there.
Cons – Budget is slashed every year and teams are asked to do more with less. After 10+ years some of our best brains were poached by other companies offering higher salaries and less stress. When the team started to fall behind, Parsons started switching managers instead of replacing some of the talent that was lost. Also: five year refresh cycle on laptops is way too long. Upper management has challenged all employees to be innovative but middle management often punishes employees who attempt to innovate for being less dedicated to the team.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your employees and understand when you've reached the limits of efficiency.

Former Employee – worked at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Average salary and health benefits, well-above average ESOP contribution (and free), good work share between offices, relatively easy to find projects and keep busy if motivated and willing to commute short distances, good travel reimbursement system, healthy company, intellegent workforce, and rarely fired workers.
Cons – Fair promotion potential, fair communications down from management, lack of support for outside training and conferences, small bonuses, and tedious project management financial requirements.
Advice to Senior Management – Train project analysts to balance the monthly financial reporting for the PMs, allow the PMs to verify it, but have the PAs input and update the data. More recognition and promotions for your project managers. Recognize technical experts and don't force everyone to become PMs.

Former Employee – worked at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great stock plan; decent benefits; generally nice people.
Cons – Senior manager mistreats employees with sarcasm and demeaning comments; no work-life balance - work from home NOT allowed; Stifling to middle managers; little autonomy; only care about GPP (gross profit produced); lots of pressure on middle mangers/project mangers to do EVERYTHING especially making profits.
Advice to Senior Management – See all of the cons above.

Former Employee – worked at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The employee stock plan is really good, IMHO. There are some very good people working there at all levels (management and below). They have a good blend of paying attention to you and leaving you alone so that you are supported without feeling smothered.
Cons – There is an inflated sense of their contribution to the client which can lead to problems with these clients. This is personal, but much of the work is with clients who are fairly adept at mismanaging either taxpayer or customer (and many of these are monopolies) money. Work in Iraq, Mideast etc. etc.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop focusing on what you can get from the client, focus on what you can do for the client. And find some better clients.

Current Employee – been working at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – It's a job with healthcare benefits available.
Cons – Watch out for yourself because 99% of your "team" will not. You must fend for yourself in this company.
The only people who get any advancement are the young professionals Example: I makes less than $6/hour more now than when I started with this company 10 years ago
If you're not fresh out of college there are few opportunities, no real training, and no dollars for additional training. The concept of a real team is non-existent.
Advice to Senior Management – Cut 30% of your management. Streamline systems across the company. Follow through on accountability requirements. Let managers manage instead of doing the same job their staff performs. Don't go public (as you say you plan to do by 2015). Turn "Talent Mangement" back into Human Resources.
