Good Organization, however you are just one of the numbers...

Senior Engineer (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsReputable, leadership is fine. Big entity with usual setback of forgetting that each and every employee is the greatest asset of the company. Does not initiate an initial good working relationship with a new employee and provide no further incentives to keep that employee.

ConsToo conglomerate to deal with a new "one of the branch" employee's concerns; have to struggle to have your office and project needs provided; have to wait for some time to be furnished with your requests and there is too much politics before one had to be released. Basically you are given some sort of early survival training when in fact it is you project that is more affected.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive each branch office its independence to procure its office needs; monitor and control from a central location higher purchase limits so as to expedite basic local project needs. Give the new employee the proper orientation training and give more focus on that new employee's needs to get his job going and provide him the required needs as to the projects he is going to be assigned. It is rather frustrating to a neophyte to figure out where to get what is needed in such a big entity. Do not be a penny wise but a dollar fool!

    No business Plan

Business Development (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsSalaries are good, working conditions are good, good place to get some experience then move on.

ConsNo strategic direction or business planning, management seems to let the employees work on whatever they want. re-organizing almost every 6 months, so watch for these re-orgs, that are not well communicated.

Advice to Senior ManagementStrategic planning, decide what you want to be then become really good at it.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Horrible place to work for and worst people to work with!!!

Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) New York, NY

    ProsNothing good at all.

    Lots of work load.

You can ALWAYS RUN BEHIND DUE DATE.

You can use vulgar words to your subordinate.

You can scream to others in the office.

You can comment bad about others, but HR and PM will not going to be accountable for that.

ConsYou will find hidden racism and inequality in terms of growth/career development within the company. They build their reputation by using the employees working overtime without getting paid.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo racism please.

slow but steady increase in responsibility for first job out of college

Engineer II (Former Employee) New York, NY

Prosthere are several interesting projects to work on; interfacing with the client is a big part of the job. the company is employee-owned, so the retirement benefits are better than most competitors.

Consit's a big company and often it seems hard to be recognized, especially as a younger engineer in his first job out of college; the annual increase in pay should be more for recent grads.

Advice to Senior Managementfor recent grads, the annual increase in pay (as a percentage) should be significantly higher; it encourages people to leave.

NYC Office (and a Certain Division) a BIG Problem!

Project Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsGreat stock plan; decent benefits; generally nice people.

ConsSenior manager mistreats employees with sarcasm and demeaning comments; no work-life balance - work from home NOT allowed; Stifling to middle managers; little autonomy; only care about GPP (gross profit produced); lots of pressure on middle mangers/project mangers to do EVERYTHING especially making profits.

Advice to Senior ManagementSee all of the cons above.
