Marty Allen
Former Employee – worked at Party America
Pros – Nice people and a festive environment.
Cool samples for parties available to staff.
Top management very competent and sensitive to employee needs.
(All before Party City took over)
Cons – With the acquisition of Party America by Party City, the festive mood changed. The company dropped from around 100 employees to about 15-20, and the party "chief," Marty Allen was one of those who left.
With those changes it was hard to keep the same environment.
Also, pay was relatively low compared to the same job performed in other companies.
Advice to Senior Management – It is hard to offer advice to the people who stayed on, in terms of bringing back the mood that was there before... the people who created the environment need to be there.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Party America part-time for more than a year
Pros – Fast paced environment, Upper management so-so
Cons – zero career path, very little repercussions for poor work
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on your strong associates and get rid of the leeches.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Party America
Pros – Fun to help people pick out themes or organisation for parties/weddings. You could exercise a modicum of creativity in making balloon bouquets.
Cons – Basic retail working environment: work was generally boring, you had to deal with many persons, often not all that happy, management generally just told you what to do.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop making so many arbitrary changes to the layout/design of the store. It simply seems unneccessary and is stressful to employees.
