Pros
Pason Systems has a great atmosphere to work in. The company seems very fair with compensation and has great benefits. They really promote a work/life balance with vacation time and incorporate many social activities such as BBQs into the workday.
Cons
I'm not really sure of that many. I've only been here for a short time and am quite pleased with everything so far.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work.
Pros
It was a great company when it was smaller and had a tighter group of employees. Stock options were good. CEO and CFO are good people but their level of influence and involvement has been reduced by multiple layers of Middle Management.
Cons
Poor starting wage, at one point interns were making more then regular employees. No accountability for HR mistakes.
Middle Management was hired from ex-Nortel employees who started to run the company like Nortel. They only care about personal gain and turned Pason into a Nortel-Lite. Management was hired from post pathetic Nortel not the 1999-2000 industry leading Nortel.
Company's is not very honest about it's strategic intent. They used the excuse of paying more for an outsourcing company to support the Full Time staff, so FT's could move onto more interesting projects. The outsourcing company was given the same projects and management roles where regular FT's could of challenged for. When the recession hit the out sourcing staff stayed while many FT's were let go.
Advice to Senior Management
You guys aren't that great. Get over it.
Pros
Salary and benefits. nothing more.
Cons
Opportunity for growth. Generally, they do not have programs encouraging people to get further education or training outside of their company. Scholarship or grants that could have been use to enhance job inputs. Also, inside politics would stab you at the back. In times of difficulty, the top management concern is to save their own purse but not the staff to whom much the work is done.
Advice to Senior Management
Be transparent to your employees and be truthful to what you say. In difficult times, a little sacrifice from top management would have been great for the sake of your employees. Scholarship or grants to encourage your people to invest on continuing education. Less politics, performance feedback should come among co-employees not just relying on statistics or only one person and be fair to your employees especially those staff that does a lot of work for you.
