I have been working at Patheon Pharmaceuticals full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The coworkers come together to get the job done.

    Cons

Everyone is uptight and discouraged since patheon took over our company a few months ago. We work very long hours and are given hope but it never happens for better hours. We are tired and unmotivated

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employèes! Or they will fimd someone who does and a high turnover rate and untrained people does not look good for any company.

I have been working at Patheon Pharmaceuticals part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The people are very helpful and friendly. It's a great opportunity to learn how the pharmaceutical industry operates.

    Cons

They could bring some youth into the company. Also, upper management could be more helpful with employees needs.

I worked at Patheon Pharmaceuticals full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They offered a lot of over time so you could make plenty of money. A lot of great people to work with at Patheon.

    Cons

No room to advance. You have to have a degree to do anything there. Only select few get raises and bonuses each year.

I have been working at Patheon Pharmaceuticals full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Each local site does a pretty good job managing their people.
Training is offered, as is tuition reimbursement.
Nice people, flexible schedule, salary can be decent (if you know the right people).

    Cons

I have worked at the HQ site for several years. I have seen the executives throttling others pay so they can stuff their wallets. 600K spent on the CEO for his furniture, nearly a million dollars spent for a lease so the CEO can travel in his own private jet, hundreds of thousands spent for fuel for the CEO's personal plane (Yes he has his OWN plane).

These execs, JLL included, continue job cuts, outsourcing, and pretty much starving the employees while they spend over a thousand dollars on their fancy dinners and lavish lifestyles. I could never recommend working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. It's too late. I'm pretty sure the government will step in soon and make restitution, just like Microsoft did..

    Negative Outlook

A lot of change but no understanding of proper implementation and effect of changes

I have been working at Patheon Pharmaceuticals

    Pros

Friendly people, good benefits, many changes that could pay off at some point in the future but right now are resented by most employees

    Cons

Low pay, terrible bonus/raises, management makes changes to processes that causes production staff to lose what meager bonus and raise they were eligible for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are a lot of frustrated employees right now who have experienced change that has effected them in a negative manner. Do proper research before implementation of changes in processes looking at LONG TERM effects. There was a pay for performance program implemented last year that ended up being the same as previous programs just with different paperwork. You must reward high performing employees or you will lose them to higher paying, higher performing companies.
