    Neutral

    Scientist (Former Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsPatheon offers a good work environment and is a good place to learn different technologies. The people are easy to get along with and work-place atmosphere is good.

ConsThere are limited career growth opportunities. Patheon can do better in terms of rewarding good performers with promotions and salary raises. In that department they fall below industry standards.

Advice to Senior ManagementPatheon is a great company, but the senior leadership needs to re-evaluate the strategies to keep their scientific talent from leaving by providing better opportunities for career growth.

    Chaos in motion

Analytical Development Scientist (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

    ProsGreat scientific and administrative staff
    Interesting projects

ConsPay is low for the industry
    Management is not innovative
Management does not communicate with employees
Little to no investment in new equipment and technology
Management refuses to fix the broken processes that cause day-to-day chaos
You are constantly set up to fail
Management chases money instead of focusing on quality

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are numerous processes at the Cincinnati site that no longer serve the long-term interests of Patheon. It is going to be absolutely critical to fix the processes, invest in new equipment and technology and communicate effectively to employees. Otherwise, there is no future at Patheon Cincinnati.

Run as fast as you can

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Raleigh, NC

ProsGreat location, nice labs, new equipment

ConsA sweatshop, no raises (actually pay cuts), local management is clueless, senior management rewards themselves at everyone else's expense. They do not know how to motivate people.

Advice to Senior ManagementLeave before you bleed the company dry. It seems that all you want is yes men but you have employees who actually have valuable things to say even if they disagree with you. You fire them unless they agree.

Patheon has the potential to be a blockbuster company.

Quality Analyst (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsPatheon is a company which has a potential for a lot of growth in the industry in the long term. There are several sites worldwide which makes Patheon well positioned in the market. It is receiving attention from many big pharma companies, which will put it in a good position in the marketplace down the road.

ConsTrying to standardize the procedures to become a global company with one brand is causing some growing pains. Many new sites have been acquired, and the process of doing things in a global way is cause for a lot of change which can be stressful.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward the people you have who are working hard and get rid of the dead weight.

    Manager

Manager (Former Employee) Mississauga, ON (Canada)

ProsGood place to learn by yourself. Various development projects and dosage forms, well structured system and SOP.

ConsThe company culture has changed in the last couple of years after introducing the operation excellent program by Mckanzie, the company is more focusing on operation efficiency, the numbers instead of quality, customer and own staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't be fooled by the Matrix number, this type of propaganda is not sustainable, and not heathy either to the organization's long term goal.

3 years as AD Chemist 2.5 years as Project Manager

Project Manager (Current Employee) Whitby, ON (Canada)

ProsGreat Place to Learn in a fast paced environment because you never know what our clients will ask next.

Every new problem brings more experience to put on your CV/resume.

Your soft skills are put to the test every day and typically most clients appreciate the efforts that you out in.

ConsI have the impression that other companies pay better and the pace is fast so you do have to learn to deal with the stress and flexibility of working outside of your comfort zone especially within the first twelve months.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork more on talent retention.

    – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Patheon has Good working environment and culture, Supportive Group leader and Staff, Good System and Very nice policies

Processing Technologist (Current Employee) Mississauga, ON (Canada)

ProsBest reason to work with patheon is The company has a long vision and growth, they are keep update always, Changing the system to improve work flow, and all the staff memberhas a value in this company.

ConsYou should provide tea or coffee to the night staff, so that people can't waste more time to go out and concentrate on training of new employee take a feedback every week what the new employee learn ? Ask to the seniour what is he teach to the trainee every week not just take how's the person behaviour or attitude because some time people can work for 1 year or 6 month but they don't know how to handle the situation! why ? because they are not well trained, if some time by mistake if the batch fail, company losing in milions of doller and the reason is the person is not well trained, now to remove that person is not a solution, but proper training and feed back of what he learn is important. Please don't take personnalyi am just the small employee, this is just what i feel, i don't have any problem with my seniour or group leader they all are supportive, bt not necessary with others

Advice to Senior ManagementMy level is not that much , i can't suggest the higher management

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
